Glad you enjoyed BLACKPINK, next I'd recommend their Billion-View hit HOW YOU LIKE THAT, followed by the HOW YOU LIKE THAT DANCE PERFORMANCE, which shows the full choreo ( but watch the music video first!)

You know what, I realized I didn’t see any cgi or strong presence of motion graphic animation at all. Practicality in MV’s will always be appealing to me. Don’t get me wrong, when it’s done right, I’m a fan but I’ve seen so many videos in the past that don’t age well due to heavy CGI usage. For them to bring in billions of views without the glitz of visual fx, speaks volumes

In BP's videos there is not much choreography because they prioritize all the other visual elements along with makeup, costumes, accessories and everything related to the world of fashion.Since each of them are ambassadors of fashion and jewelry brands For the choreographies they make videos of dance performance and dance practices

I will (and do sometimes) but I find myself being taken out of the element and just looking at the subtitles most of the time. I just need to learn these languages so I can lock in! I’ve been picking up my Japanese studies and making sure I’m carving out time for it. My son and I have been working on his Spanish so I can ensure he’ll have at least a second language under his belt. I’m not fluent yet, but not far off. I don’t have anyone to speak Korean with so if I start, literally K-Pop would be my teacher hahah I’m using Rosetta Stone, which I know some people frown down upon, but I got the version with all the languages so might as well use it 🤷🏽♂️

Great Reaction The Retired Gamer! BlackPinks main focus was on paying Homage to old school hip hop and Rihanna, Taylor Swift the line Look What You Made Us Do! Was a play on Taylor’s song! Also on the first drop they paid Homage to TLC and Aaliyah! And the second drop was for the fans! It’s for a KZitem challenge! Then they choose the best performance and reward them for it! They have Dance Performance for Pink Venom that’s pretty impressive if you have a chance check it out!🖤🌸🙏🏻

I'll run down the homages made here in the song because the musical references on "Pink Venom" are pretty extensive: The song starts with a crowd chanting "Blackpink" like the crowd chants "Bravehearts" in the Nas song "Made You Look". Then Jennie hits us with a reference to Biggie's famous line "kick in the door, wavin the 44"(Jennie says Coco). Next Lisa references Rhianna's "Pon de Replay" with "One by one and two by two" and also 50 Cent's P.I.M.P. with "you can't get a dollar outta me". Rosé and Jisoo both reference Taylor Swift with "look what you made us do" also "I bring the pain like" is a reference to Method Man's "Bring the Pain". Finally, the Jennie/Lisa rap verse is backed by a sample of Ice Cube/Eazy-E's part of "Gangsta Gangsta" by N.W.A(could also be "Dope Man" pretty much the same sample). All the hip hop references aren't a coincidence as they happened to release this track during the 49th anniversary of hip hop. Teddy(their producer) and the girls definitely weren't shy about shouting out their inspirations/favorite artists in this song.

Music is a bridge for us to cross and connect through. I’m so new to K-Pop and reaction videos but I’m a fan of the creativity, flow from Korean & Japanese to English is remarkable and the entire style they bring to the table. @@aoisthefutureTRG It has always been a bit strange for me. Sugarhill Gang released Rapper's Delight when I was starting High School in suburbs of NYC and just as I was beginning to buy music. Saw AC/DC and Beastie Boys that year but The Beasties were a punk band at the time and didn't know how to rap yet. That led me to Run DMC and Public Enemy and then everything else. To be around since before "hip hop" was a word has been blessing. Got to watch that whole rap "fad" not fade away. Even got a job and once because I could fully understand "Ebonics". Best concerts I have been to were AC/DC and Blackpink. Until I saw U2 in the Sphere last month. That was crazy - the visuals and sound were a absolutely revolutionary. I left thinking that that might have been the best show anyone has ever seen. Are you familiar with Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd yet?
@aoisthefutureTRG

Man, that’s what I was talking about! Being able to see the progression from early stages to where it’s at now has got to be so cool. I remember how it was viewed in the 80-90s and the culture behind it had such a stigma (prob for good reason- “we’re not against rap. We’re not against rappers but we are against those thugs” stands out in my mind) but now the influence is everywhere. Ebonics! 😂omg I remember that and how I used to explain certain words to my friends that weren’t from my neighborhood. I always had friends that were white that older guys in my projects didn’t agree with me hanging out with, which resulted in a few altercations. Reverse racism if you will but I would rather fight and do as I wish than cower and do as I’m told so I never fit in. We cover this in the podcast in a bit more detail, but it just makes me smile knowing you were tapped into the culture back then. Anyways, my wife has been putting me on to some LED Zeppelin (which I think is great music) and I remember tripping watching the Wall with some of my white friends back in the day hahaha so I’m familiar with Pink Floyd a lot more. I don’t know the songs by heart or nothing but when I hear them, my Soul knows 😂

Yeah, RV’s are still new to me and fun for me to do. I’m a director and entrepreneur that has a lot of clients so most my days are full of catering to their needs. This is where I get to not be so caught up on perfection and try to go with the flow but the sound issue may be my 2017 iMac (My main video editing device) cause of the sound quality coming in while using the F6 Zoom. I just started using my 2021 M1 iMac (I mainly use it for web design and marketing) for “Shut Down” and most of the feedback has been positive. I’ll keep the faith that something will work. I’ll prob use my Neumann tonight and see how it goes, I probably need to record with headphones frfr. Something about the sound coming from the speakers into the mic is the most likely the problem I’m sure. Anyways, I never heard of him. He sounds like a modern Mozart. Pretty amazing and thanks for sharing his work with me. I can’t imagine being that focused at such a young age, so kudos to him and his parents for instilling discipline in him. Will check him out for sure!

Oh yeah for sure! If I had to guess, I would prob say roughly $1.2m The sets were complex and grand when it called for it. The cars, the wardrobe, and the extras make me think the crew may have 30-40 people working behind camera. I seen a few dolly shots and a couple crane shots which increase budget dramatically. I wonder how long were they on set for?.. that changes price also cause Murphys Law is real in filmmaking sometimes.
