These videos always make me so sad and somber. Thinking about how theses were once a thriving place with families and so many unknown stories, the bare house feels like all of that has been stripped. But on the other foot, It is cool to know that this is also a great resource for urban decay and what time can do to a house without a caretaker.

I’m from NJ born and raised, I moved to the outskirts of Baltimore in 2019 to help my friend get his HVAC business going, well main big unit goes in the backyard, he told me when he was doing to estimate to stay in the truck keep windows up, doors locked we in a bad neighborhood, I wasn’t scared I been in plenty of bad neighborhoods… well it was July around noon we parked in the alley on Preston & Monroe so we can carry the big main unit to put in backyard… I was putting tools back I turn around had shotgun and 45 to my head. They escorted me to the back door, by the grace of god when I opened the back door the door swung open to the left, as I stepped in I stepped to my right, slam the door , ducked , locked the door and crawled into the kitchen, luckily they ran off but if that door didn’t open the way it did and I couldn’t sidestep the way I did who knows what would of happened if they got in… I saved a grandmother, daughter and 3 little kids , my friend and myself that day…. Next day I packed my shit drove to South Florida… Baltimore is a shithole

I am a lifelong Baltimore resident. The row homes in the city are so old. They really need to be torn down and rebuilt. This trash in yards in the city has gone on for years, and no one does a damn thing about it. But you know, all the politicians say is “we gotta do better”. Sadly, nothing will ever get done about this. It’s sad.

When families from Baltimore move to other areas, it only takes a year or so for everything to look just like this. We have a saying in our small town "it's getting as bad as Baltimore". Strong armed robberies, car thefts, rapes, we even had a high school student from Baltimore stabbed another student to death last year. We just can't seem to get far enough away from them.

I think it's from both, natural decay of them toppling over and vandals toppling them over. Then the cemetery does not care by just leaving them doing the bare minimum of mowing the grass and if they do trim bushes they throw the branches inside the scripts. The city probably runs the cemetery and the budget of how much is spent keeping it up, which is not much, I imagine. Thank you for showing Dan. Stay strong, stay proud.

There is a mile to mile and half stretch of road near my home, about 5 to 10 minutes, so that road is very deserted, like all you see are light post and 2 houses, of which 1 is probably abandoned. And I remember up to about 20 years ago people would use it as a landfill, all you say for about a mile was trash, dead animals, burned cars, and every now and then a body or tow. But then they built a speedway in the area and to entice people to visit the local government cleaned the whole road. The speedway ended up closing after a hurricane but people got so used to finally not using it as a landfill that now its mostly clean, just overgrown grass and the usual dogs and other animals roaming around.

Dan, when you go into these old, dreary places and you call out to see if anyone is "home", maybe also add, "Urban Explorer, just here to take pictures and document this place before anything might happen to it." Lots do that in Canada, just so if someone is there, they can put together you're not there for them! Some say the statement a couple times, so if someone is there, they have time to "register" what you've said. I'm concerned with some of these bandos you enter.
