it really grabs you from the first trumpet lick. Excellent noir feel throughout. Very mysterious and "she was a dame you couldn't trust...."

Another winner, Nick. You have truly great songwriting skills. These are rock-solid tunes, with great instrumentation, and expert playing. Please consider a 'Volume 3' somewhere down the road!

Really, your Jazz themes in the style of Noir films are the best I've seen among many collections on KZitem. It's just what one would expect to find

So glad I just discovered this! You've got some really great sounds. I'm a huge film noir fan and jazz guitarist so I play a lot of torch songs. And this collection is the perfect ode to my favorite Mike Hammer quote, "She was blonde all over."

I'm walking these lonely streets at night, the rain falling in sheets from a midnight sky. The city reeks of gasoline and broken dreams. A grim reminder of the bad things I've seen and the worse things I've done. Up ahead, I see the telltale glow of a neon sign, a beacon of light in this God forsaken place. The sounds of a jazz trumpet fill my ears with a soothing melody. I walk in. Maybe, tonight, I will be able to forget her. Maybe....

Big fan of your first jazz noir collection here on yt, this one is just as good. Did you play all the instruments that weren't brass as well? Excellent stuff!!👌

Thank you! I played live saxophone, bass clarinet, clarinet, flute and guitar on this. The trumpet was played using a midi wind instrument and a patch, and all other instruments are digital, played by me on a MIDI keyboard.

Nick your fantastic music helped me get into the zone of Noir as I wrote my first novella. Which I have completed in what I refer to as The Penultimate Draft, an hour ago. Subject to an objective edit from a literary professional. Then on to publication. It is my homage to the genre based on a play I wrote and staged 35 years ago. I would like you to know you will be added to the Thank You List. Lo these past seven months I have listened to your music as my Detective entered Fairfax Manor or The Wookie Wookie Room. It was my soundtrack as he walked down dark and dangerous NYC streets. Dodging death while numerous others meet their maker enroute. BTW, any thoughts on composing some 30s music? In my next novella the backdrop is Hollywood in its heyday. 😁Cheers! RDW

I'm afraid not for the time being. I'm focusing on a chill lofi bossa nova album instead.
