No cap though, I’ve seen that the gear people associate with high quality gets you clients. Example is a 70-200… typically they’re white and you see it on expensive big telephoto lenses and it’s instantly more “professional”

Love your videos! Thank you so much for sharing all the valuable information and showcasing how you actually apply yourself all the knowledge. A quick question: I am really hesitating about purchasing a monitor (for wedding and family shooting, so I need to be quick and adjust to the changing environment). My main concerns would be: - controlling the exposure on the s-log3 - seing better (not on a small back screen of the camera) - probably helping the stabilization by adding the weight How would you suggest taking a decision? Do you think for this type of shooting the screen is really needed?

Nice video! But in debating both sides I think there's a third option, which bears mentioning, which is to have two camera bodies. I was at Orms yesterday debating this very choice, is it worth it or just more gear which needs looking after? Like having a 16-35 on the gimbal for B-roll and handheld in a "A" rig with Mic etc. One can always remove the camera from the gimbal fairly quickly if needed. Yes budget is the "stopper" for most people. And security. Like where does the gimbal go when not being used? An assistant is almost mandatory. In Cape Town we have major issues with guys stealing our gear on site, like with the recent Nelson M Day crime spree. Tough to decide between "pro" and heavy and obvious, or light and fast...and safer! Hmmm

A good solution for a Cage and Gimbal setup is the following (at least to me): I use the EOS R6 with a SmallRig Cage that has NATO Rails. It's super fast to detach the handle and the R6 with cage and a 24-105mm fits onto an DJI RSC2. 👌🏼 Initial balancing needs a bit of patience but that's okay.

Thanks, some good points to help a newbie like me so I just subscribed. I can see many pros/cons. Perhaps using a QR clamp to assist switching between rig and gimbal may help. But when travelling or not wishing to attract undue attention I can see how a basic body without rig helps - esp if just using a small prime too. Maybe there is merit in using a monopod to add a degree of fast working stability along with a gimbal?
