If this creation gets more refined we could see a massive return to film photography. It is already a collection of steps needed for the darkroom, now all it needs is a design that makes the tank less fish-tank and more professional. The re-use of the 3 chemicals is also a major plus. BTW Thumbs up if DigitalRev brought you here lol

Amazing...would like to have this machine in 1997-2001 when I was studying photography :P. I did probably spend the amount of money on PRO Labs equal to the price of this machine included chemicals.

Here we are almost four years later, and you can buy one of these machines on line. I think the machine to extremely well featured to the point of luxury,l but it suffers a couple of issues which mean that it will not grace my darkroom. (1) The price: depending on currency conversion rates from the Euro and the accessories added, the delivered cost is going to be in the range of $4,000 - $5,000. That's a bit much once the glitz wears off. More functional machines doing the same jobs and more were sold for years in the US for a bit more than half the price. Admittedly, the last of these makers closed up shop last year and such is no more, leaving a supply and demand issue. (2) The peculiar limit on the number of baths (3 chemicals). This is fine (I guess) if you want to limit your color processing to the amateur targeted 3-bath kits commonly sold. However, if you use the full process versions, i.e., the 6 bath E-6 process, this machine is useless. That is unreasonable at the price. And, given the electronic microprocessor controls, the only design consideration would have been three more chemical chambers and simple programing changes. Too bad.

OMG!!! I so want this! Yes i know it's not that hard to proces film but it's time consuming having to stay there to do all the agitation and poring. With this it's just a matter of loading film in reals and turning the machine on while you go and take a nap or something. I would so pay 2000 for this. Pleeeeeeaaaaase make this available

That's extremely impressive. I guess the price is somewhere in the high hundreds? I doubt I'd be able to afford it, but I would really like one for E6 processing, especially as many, many labs have abandoned the process.
@randallstewart175
5 жыл бұрын
Price in the "high hundreds"? Try on 3,500 Euros. Apart from the price, my objection is being limited to three chemical steps. Frankly, if you are spending close the $5,000 for the processor, I for one am not interested in having my E-6 quality limited to the image compromise of a Tetenal kit over the full six chemical E-6 process. Although I think the last company terminated business earlier this year, in the US we have had a similar processor which would do any process and cost about half the price, featuring all of the functions here and more. Just not enough demand (sales volume) to make building these things at an acceptable price.

Shut up and take my money.. I need this in my life.. fantastic idea! do you expect that the extra exposure to oxygen via pumping and bubbling will cause oxidation of chemicals leading to faster decay? just curious. Wouldn't imagine it would have too much effect but I'd like to know life of chems once you have some data from extended use. I can currently get about 18-20 rolls of 35mm through a Unicolor C41 kit before I need to toss it. standard paterson tank with swivel stick agitation.

+Echolot789 is there any specific reason you went with a single button/dial interface? That looks like an annoying way to enter data compared to supporting a keyboard interface, or even writing scripts on a regular computer and loading through an SD card or thumb drive (Or better yet, uploading them over a network.) What are controller/computer system are you using for it? I might be able to find some time over the winter to lend a hand if you could use some help on the software side. Good luck with the project.
