In this first part of this tutorial we will see how to filter rows of a table through a Quick Filter that we will do with the combination of Filters in Excel and Macros in VBA language.
We have a table of values and we want the rows of the table to be filtered in the base to the name; As we write in a text box (TextBox1) at the moment and dynamically the rows will be filtered as the text matches the content of the column Name.
How does it work
We have an example table where the second column is of names and it is based on that column that we want to perform the quick filter.
To perform the Quick Filter we will need to insert some controls and objects in the sheet to add interactivity with macros:
- A rectangle that will serve to contain other controls and will have the text where it will be indicated that we enter the NAME to filter.
- Text box (TextBox1) where we enter the text to filter dynamically.
- A Button that will serve to erase the applied filter and clean the content of the TextBox1.
