As average a game as Klay had, I'm so glad they ran that play for him to make the go-ahead three. I love my Dubs, but every time we're in a late and close situation, Coach Kerr keeps running the plays for Steph and he just settles for a desperate three, when he could easily get a better shot with those handling skills. Klay did exactly that from behind the arc. Instead of catching and releasing, he knew the D would be tight on him so that shot fake was so smart 💯
@harveyvictorcreatives
2 жыл бұрын
Agreeed! Great observation. This is why the Warriors lost in 2016 when they had a 3-1 lead. Sometimes when Steph is off, he's really off. But Kerr kept trying to run the offense through him when Klay had the hot hand and was more composed, especailly in the OKC series that year. Dillon Brooks seems to have Curry's number, so he's going to have to find other ways to be effective. Let Poole bring the ball up to save Steph's energy, and run Dillon Brooks around screens all night.

Warriors had Payton, Curry, and Klay all coming into the 2nd half with 3 fouls and Klay sitting a majority of Q2. Dray ejected right before the half, a tallest player of 6’9 throughout the rest of the game against a team known for their rebounding. Klay shot terribly, Steph only had one good quarter. Refs called everything on GS, and the warriors even almost crumbled down the stretch. Yet they win game 1 on the road. Nothing to lose for them, all the pressure is on Memphis. Warriors should treat game 2 as a game 7, period.

Heck a first round exit is still ok as he is the only star there and pretty much if the team is still young, eager to learn and had KD as there leader, its ok. That was absolutely crazy!! I can't believe I missed this game live. It's weird to say, I think GS is a better team overall, but a little shocked MEM lost. All season they showed up vs GS. But a full GS roster and the playoff experience shows why GS can make it to the championship.

Man that curry shot could've made it less stressful down the stretch but yeah Klay Klay stepped up...semi clutch but not clutch...brick two free throws...but still Warriors with a nail biter win , on to game two...with Draymond back hopefully for a full game might change the whole dynamic and get another one Dub the way to the bay....Warriors in 5💪😤

This will be a new challenge to the Grizz. Last round, they fought an inexperience team in T-wolves who cannot execute down the stretch. This Dubs have veterans that have composure to execute offensive and defensive plays down the stretch. A tale of the old guards vs the young bloods.

I don't understand why Wigg's effort is often overlooked. Guy is bustin his behind the whole game manning the middle with fellow undersized Drey and Loon and finding his spots on the offense and muscling his way for rebounds.

Should have been a clear GS ball anyway when it went out of bounds at 4:18. Refs are an embarrassment.

I feel like the moment morant was blocked by Curry, he broke down. Before that, Ja was playing Good, but after that, Mental breakdown decided for him, the things that could Go wrong for him happened at that last minute: horrible defense, even worst offense. Klay locked him that last possesion , grizz had the refs on its side, still Warriors won game 1.

I thought the Warriors missed some opportunities, whether it was the missing Poole open in the corner or Wiggins open near the basket. Really cazy finish. Klay came up clutch (then choked, then clutch again). Great block by Steph on Ja. The inbound alley-oop to Clarke was cool. Wiggins deserves credit for some of his hustle plays. This series is gonna be one for the ages.
