I notice it is a different Company from the ones that featured in the first few video's but this guy is even slower and pedantic than the first one and he wasn't fast either. Maybe they are paid by the hour so not in any rush. The only excuse I could perhaps give him is that there is a structure at the front right hand side of this building and maybe he had to be careful. Honestly I have watched many demolition video's ( sad person me!!) but this set show how to make a real meal of such a task. If they had been on a fixed fee they would have had the buildings down in jig time!! Sorry you had to record this Paul - must have been murder!

Union.. That's most likely the true answer... Ten pieces of equipment sitting doing nothing. One guy working as slow as he can without doing too much in a day. 39:00 mins and he's barely cleared the half sized top floor section. And those bricks seem to need only the slightest touch to fall.. And why leave the scaffolding there once you start to knock it down??

The thing I love about all of these "oh god oh god, why so slow/incompetent operator" type responses is that it shows that most of the viewers come from the USA where demolition is simply SMASH SMASH SMASH SMASH as quick as you can with little forethought about what is around or even underneath the buildings being demolished, then munch up the rubble and haul it off to some nameless landfill. But THIS Building is in the United Kingdom, where structures are nearly all built out of solid concrete or cinderblock, brick and concrete with a little structural steel tossed into the mix. Plus the area's around and under the buildings are absolutely riddled with access tunnels, sewer works and basement/parking garages of other neighbouring buildings and so the normal USA demolition method to building destruction would have a detrimental effect to all of that underlying infrastructure. The operator may possibly be considered new to that machine, but he's also trying to be cautious of all the neighbouring structures and underlying infrastructure while tearing down a mostly concrete building. If that means taking one or two days to do it, then so be it. This is not a building made of wood that can be levelled in under an hour folks, and you are obviously missing out on that factoid in your zeal to see something get demolished. Keep to watching American-style demolition if you want speed and wastefulness when it comes to building demolition. Things naturally go at a slower pace in Europe where buildings are constructed in a completely different manner than in the throw-away version used in the states.

@steadholderharrington9035
2 жыл бұрын
@@BradfordGuy Yeah, he must just be a klutz, because only klutzes are that slow. Better to be quicker at demolition like they are in America, than to try and do things in a proper fashion. Quick, like in the demolition of the Hurricane Katrina-damaged, 3/4 constructed, brand-new Hard Rock Hotel there in New Orleans, Louisiana for instance, where they quickly imploded the damaged tower cranes that sat atop of the hotel, and swiftly skewered the Historic Saenger Theatre across the street from it with the boom from one crane, ceiling to basement, and at the same time, also severed a cable car line buried some twenty feet below street level on the road that ran beside the hotel with the boom from the other crane, and took out a lot of local utilities too. Only three to five million dollars to repair the damages from that portion of fast and speedy demolition. Yes, swiftness is indeed the way to go with large scale demolitions. So fast, that it took the rest of the year to S-L-O-W-L-Y demolish the rest of that hotel (10 months in fact) just to prevent any more expensive accidents, brought about by swift and speedy demolition by expert demolishers.

This man needs some training and knowledge about 2 things which he obviously doesn't know enough about to be doing this job!!! First, he doesn't understand how a building gets put together, which is why he is so tentative about removing pieces and whats going to happen when he does ... and ... second ... it's apparent he doesn't have many hours on this equipment, so he doesn't understand it's capabilities and operation!!! He constantly rotates the head when sometimes there is no reason to do so ... so he has to re-position it for every grab .. he takes out portions in the wrong sequence,... he should be removing this piece first, like corners and headers, but he grabs something else ... he grabs a tiny peice of wall when he could grab a nice bucket full ... I could go on and on !!! any way ..... WOW .. glad I'm not paying him his hourly wage!!
