Basically the meaning of the ending (It’s Here) is that Nick, Lori, and Janet were always supposed to die at the cafe shop not at the racetrack or the mall. Death made those events happened so that the trio will end up at the cafe shop (their final destination)
@sweetluvgurl
2 жыл бұрын
Yeah, Nick already hints that with what he says at the end of the movie. He says maybe they were never supposed to die the other times and that this was death’s plan all along. They just didn’t show the part with him saying that.

Interesting Facts about FINAL DESTINATION 4 (2009) The film's McKinley Speedway accident is similar to a real-life disaster: the 1955 LeMans Speedway Disaster, in which a multi-car collision launched an engine block, hood, and other wreckage into a packed grandstand, killing 84 people in total. The deaths included spectators being cut in half by the flying hood "like a guillotine", the engine block crushing a swathe through the crowd; an explosion and fire also occurred, which added to the death toll. While in the coffee shop a TV is playing In the background it is showing the news with subtitles showing. At one point the subtitles briefly show a news anchorwoman talking about faulty amusement park equipment. The previous installment to this film series (Final Destination 3 (2006)) focuses on a group of kids who survived a freak roller-coaster accident at an amusement park. True story a Boy, 14, left fighting for life after his intestines were sucked out by a swimming pool filter

Well, I do apologize for that one. SO MANY STORIES as to why it didn't nearly turn out as hoped. And you are correct that it very nearly went straight to video. If not for 25 pages of reshoots, that's where it would have wound up. However, we rode the 3D wave to $206m worldwide... which gave us a chance at redemption with FD5. Your review is, as always, very entertaining. A few fun (?) facts: a) the escalator death is based on several real incidents, b) the pool gag is inspired by the real event and settlement that made failed presidential candidate John Edwards legal career; and the car wash gag happened to the writer himself. I look forward to your review of FD5!

This one is the entry that finally reveals the secret to the whole series: the premonitions are all lies. The characters who survive the initial disaster weren’t cheating death when they were meant to die; they were doing exactly what they were meant to do because they were not supposed to die. Death has been sending the characters the premonitions and the clues just to mess with them, just to have some fun. Every time they survive an attempt, death was never going to actually kill them then, it just wanted them to think that they were cheating it. Alex was not meant to die in the plane, he was always supposed to die from the brick hitting him; the characters from 3 were never going to die on the roller coaster; they were going to die in the subway wreck. And these characters were never going to die at the racetrack, but in that shop hit by a semi. Death sent the visions to make them leave where it didn’t want them to die, but did it in that way just for its own amusement, to make them think they were controlling their fates. And all the movies are linked together, and so the ending of this movie was always death’s plan from the beginning of giving Alex that first premonition. They were never cheating death at all. Like 2 and 3, this one really lays into the misdirection of what’s going to happen, showing you potentially deadly things taking place that not only have nothing to do with the person’s death, but don’t even play a part in the actual set up; they’re just random accidents happening at those moments that get mistake by the characters and the audience as the sequence of death, then it turns out to be nothing. The filmmakers messing with the viewer. It doesn’t show or say anything in the movie, but according to behind the scenes comments from the filmmakers, Tony Todd’s mortician character was the one driving that ambulance that hit the security guard. So even when he’s not actually in the movie, he’s still involved, according to the folks in charge.

I think this was one of the movies that made my head hurt. I know why Avatar did (same technology as used here): they actively blurred out everything that wasn't directly in focus of where you were supposed to look because supposedly that is how lenses usually work... but in an actual wide shot across a landscape you can look at the left and right edges of the screen equally as the middle. So in Avatar only the background behind the characters looked somewhat sharp but the edges were unnaturally blurred. So when my eyes tried to adjust to that to get a better focus on the background it was simply impossible. I just recently learned that when they brought the remaster back to selected cinemas they indeed removed this blur. So it was in fact a stupid idea in the first place.

Best Demise: The Escalator! The EXTENT to what happened just seems ludicrous! I think they might have been trying to make this fun and like an amusement park ride for the fans. Plus it seems to have nods to the other 3 movies in the series... Part 1: The Bus Scene/Ambulance. Part 2: Fire Escape/Rock Part 3: Nailgun/Nailgun... The "Clare Rivers" mention. The usual 180 reference. "McKinley" (Part 3 High School) Race Track. But then it ended up coming off comedic. Don't know but it seemed the actors were playing up how ridiculous the whole movie seemed.

I think that you guys forgot that Final Destination 2 didn't ignore the internal logic of the Final Destination franchise, but rather it expanded on it. The survivors of the highway pileup died in reverse order of the premonition because they were dying in the order of the deaths of the survivors of Flight 180 in the first movie, because each of the characters managed to avoid dying previously because of those other deaths. The substitute teacher survived a school shooting because he was reassigned to take over the class of the teacher that was killed. The cop survived a shootout with an armed robber because he was rerouted to deal with Stiffler's decapitation. The stoner survived being burned alive in a hostel in Paris because of the sign that shmushed one of the survivors at the very end. And so on and so forth. This movie did ignore the internal logic of the Final Destination movies in favour of focusing on the 3D effects (a failing of many 3D movies) which is a big reason as to why this movie sucks so bad.

Okay, the Mrs. called the first 3 kills in the opening scene. Clearly she is Nostradamus reborn.

I don't know why, but I honestly forget just about every piece of this movie other than the opening scene, no matter how many times I watch it. I don't have that problem with the other films in the franchise.

Yeah it's the same with me. I saw all of the other movies long time ago and i still remember most of the deaths if only because of how elaborate they got sometimes, but with this one the only death i remembered was the one with the stone through the eye and only because how stupid i thought it was the moment i saw it.

😄29:53 ....It is definitely the gnarliest kill in the whole franchise. Literally gets pulled out of her skin like it was a glove.

The way you edited her dodging the tire like she was part of the crowd in the movie has me literally ugly cry laughing. I can’t stand it, it’s so funny! 😂🤣😂

Saw this one in theaters but in 2D standard. The pool scene almost made me give up swimming in summer with dad at some resort but I didn't give it up. Lol

Considering the tone of the movie, then seeing a little dark haired girl just standing there in the background was eerie. A split second after that, oh, your children have entered the room.
