We planted Hastings prolific. Corn every year. I helped my grand father with the garden we planted corn on the full moon. It would grow 18 ft tall every year. Good corn

Those tall stalks would make some good silage, can you imagine how many tons you would get per acre. Good show

I know you wanted some seed but if it's not that sweet why do you want so much of it to plant? Just curious here, or is it just to sell it?
@Jtwes
3 жыл бұрын
Sell and to have some to plant that you can eat when you can’t buy seed anymore.

I'm 58 years old and never saw any corn like that. The racoons have gotten in mine and pulled a lot of it down and ate the corn. I think they would have a hard time pulling those stalks down! By the way Joe is Hastings and old heirloom variety?

Yep it's an old one....I was thinking I read that it was one of the parents of Silver King. You can read about it at Railey seed company that's I think his webpage is Railey Farm and Field.

That stuff should be renamed Paul Bunyan or Stretch corn. I suppose it is wise to have a supply of non GMO seed, the future is always in doubt.
