Was the first in my area to get updated. So much better! At the bottom 10% of the battery, I’m getting a top charging rate over 150kW which is a decent bump.

Welcome back to North Cackalacky! We are in Northern Charlotte. CCS infra is coming along. Round 2 of VW funding released for about 30 new chargers and a plan for 30 sites with over 125 chargers in total for NAVI compliant charging stations on the boards for 2024. Rivian is building an 8 post station at the North Lake mall too. EVgo has Raleigh built out something fierce and looks to have their eyes set on Charlotte now. I see three EVgo Renew stations with another one getting ready to be built.

Thanks! We are so happy to be back in nc! I’m glad to hear the ccs rollout is picking up steam. We are in Fuquay-Varina, and there are no fast chargers of any kind close to us. I stopped by a very nice six charger evgo station in Cary the other day. It was great. It fired right up and was blazing fast. The newer evgo, ChargePoint, and EA stations are pretty nice. Hopefully all these guys have finally figured out the hardware. That’s cool about Rivian putting in chargers at Northlake. I can’t wait to check those out. There’s still a VERY long way to go with charging infrastructure, but it’s improving! And so great to hear you are in nc too!

Glad to hear 3.1.0 IS getting into 1st Ed owners hands. We were fortunate that our later made 2022 came with 3.1.0 straight away. Hoping for a future update to include battery preconditioning, so RC in winter isn’t as s l o w for the first RC of a trip. Hope your move goes smoothly too!

Yeah I’m excited to see how the battery does this winter. Will definitely have to do a review/update.

I also have the 2021 first edition and I just picked up my car from the VW dealer after 2 weeks being there. There were issues with the battery and some other things, but now with the new firmware update I too feel like it’s a different car. Hopefully this will resolve the screen disappearing and having to restart it. I also had warning light pop up saying do not drive. I would shut off the car get out and then get back in and restart the car. The warning light would be gone. Crazy things like that from time to time. Good luck going back to N.C.

Unfortunately the glitchy screen is still a problem. I have to restart mine all the time. It’s extremely frustrating. Overall though the update is awesome

Cold weather efficiently is vastly better, delaying battery warming to around 30 degrees F instead of under 50 degrees F. It will also cycle it on and off instead of running full tilt till 50 degrees is reached. This means short trip winter driving efficiency is vastly better.

I have a 2023 ID4. In my car, you need to brake at a red signal, then the car goes into auto hold. At that point you do not need to keep your foot on the brake. Drives, please read the manual. You must brake.

You are correct, you do need to brake. I misspoke and must have had the Tesla in my mind. You can roll to a stop and auto hold in that one. Good catch and thank you for keeping me honest!

I just noticed there is a mode indication on screen. The enhanced charge curve is a big item as i road trip alot, 185 peak on 350kW chargers, and 135 on 150s.

It is funny - I got the update last week myself, and I find auto-hold annoying. To the point where I am contemplating turning it off.

To each his own. I love it, but I can definitely see why someone would prefer to not have it on

Did you notice any improvement in the efficiency (Miles/KWH) after the software upgrade? I will be getting my upgrade in a couple of weeks... one can hope that they would also done something for efficiency...

I haven’t noticed any real efficiency improvements yet, but it really does feel like a new car.

VW has a nasty habit in pushing products on the market, which have not been fully tested/developed yet. Just wait a couple of years and then the EV's from VW will hopefully give less trouble... (and have a lower salesprice!).
