With some free time on my hands, I was finally able to work on my own airplane: Evelyn, a 1946 Luscombe, is mostly bare aluminum, but has a British Racing Green stripe down the side. Before polishing the aluminum, I wanted to polish and ceramic coat the paint first to protect it against the spectacular mess that is aluminum polishing. I was surprised at the amount of depth and gloss that was quietly hiding in the paint!
As these things go, I also suckered myself into a small test spot of aluminum polishing to try a new compound, and give you a teaser of what is to come!
