It’s very satisfying seeing you take down the old render and finding beautiful, intact stonework! I realize it’s not as simple as you show..it’s hard work on you…but it’s very interesting, mesmerizing, and feels productive!

That old render sure came off easily! It’s going to be so much better when you’re done, and now you are confident in what’s underneath. Love seeing how the plans evolve…that happened to us when we bought and remodeled my parent’s home. We made plans, then would scratch our heads and think “well, maybe we should do THIS instead”. If you keep an open mind, you can do what’s best for the building and the budget.

I am hoping for 2 little windows in the kitchen for ventilation maybe using those stained glass like ones you bought with an inset look so can be seen from outside as well as inside like a wall of lanterns to bring some natural light into the kitchen. It will look much brighter with the new render no doubt and drier with the new membrane and reinforcement.

What a shame grade elevations don't allow for a drain area be established on the back side of the wall with water drained away via a pipe under the apartment floor and beyond. That would have been a nice solution to water run off from the hillside behind the apartment building. But it is what it is and you appear to deal with issues best as you can. 👍👍👍
