The nick of your first opponent translates to Bolete Beater.. (From Finnish to English) and also to .. well take a guess.. :P I wonder why you immediately sidelined Goblin Maskmaker.. Those little good citizens worked just fine for me.. Especially with Delney.. I even gave one a thinking cap to make him brave enough to attack and got two mana discount from the attack and opponent scooped (in disgust?) to my one mana disguise play that I had not even realized I could do until after combat.

It's crazy the amount of thinking and planning that goes into putting together the best deck possible and making all the best decisions, when more than 50% of what matters is did you get bombs, and did you draw the right amount of lands.

My biggest beef with magic is the variance of the lands and how impactful they are on a game. It doesn't even feel good to beat an opponent that got land screwed or flooded. Awful feeling when you pay gems, critically think how to put together a deck, make the best lines and the you just lose 1-2 games because of land. That's magic baby, yep a pain-filled statement to cover up an all around shitty game mechanic.

What if they separated lands and nonlands and each turn you could choose to draw from one pile or the other
@thrace5134

@@mitchellkrever421 that would just slow the game down by cutting the speed in half, it would feel awful to play. It would introduce some interesting strategy I'll give you that. What about two piles, one for land, one for all your other cards, and you automatically get to draw and play a land every turn? Then the truly better deck would usually win.

It was fun to laugh at Kenji getting beat by bomb rares while opening mediocre pools in some of the past videos, but that cryptic coat game actually just made me mad. There's no way Kenji's op deserves to win that game with how poorly they played the coat and how many turns they made it vulnerable to removal, when if it goes unchecked the game is just over. I got frustrated for Kenji watching that game cause his op absolutely did not deserve to win that game.

combat tricks just really overperform in this set. everything has ward, everybody is trying to get a board presence and taps out, so blocking really just feels godawful. I remember when combat tricks where like the thing you begrugingly put in your mediocre aggro deck lacking removal, now its like almost all decks just want at least one.
@BosSoxFan15
7 ай бұрын
@@AlkonKomm also in normal sets combat tricks are almost always 1 for 1s where you get the tempo advantage cause you killed their creature. In this format there are so many combat tricks that also investigate making them 2 for 1s. I've thought about this a bit during the format and I think it is part of what makes control decks a little harder to build. A control deck typically is going to 1 for 1 until the late game, when they get to start playing 2 for 1 spells to get ahead, but when your aggro opponent can start 2 for 1'ing you on turn 3, what is the point of building a control deck is kind of what you have to ask yourself? The way I see it, is if your control deck doesn't have an over the top style late game, then you should have just been an aggro deck with tricks that 2 for 1.

Nummy, this is the worst format since they launched Arena. The games keep getting faster and the bombs keep getting bombier so we can finish more games in less time and spend more money on gems. You know it pretty well, this is the world we live in. Also, I qualified in my second attempt having opened Sharp-Eyed Rookie, Pyrotechnic Performer, Yarus, Izoni and Incinerator of the Guilty but went 2-2 in my first draft with two Arena bugs (small indie company).
