Nice reaction. I felt I should come right over and watch after throwing some gentle shade over in ChainReactions comments. You + he have convinced me to listen to the full album tonight, and I’m pretty sure I won’t be disappointed. I also like Rising, but I don’t feel a need to pick favourites ;-) I’m a little disappointed that I didn’t find #prettygirlnexttoaprettygirlnexttoa… isn’t in the hashtags. Hopefully there will be an auto-generated transcript. Thanks for your wit & your insight as always.

I like the song but it definitely feels repetitive. I’ve noticed some of the sub-unit title songs also follow this repetitive pattern-like melody/lyrics like generation and girls’ capitalism. I also agree that Rising sits above Girls Never Die. I’ll have to listen to the rest of the album. Hopefully in the future we can get something from TripleS similar to NCT where each of the members can have a chance to shine or some type of switch up occurs but overall it’s a good song.

With the Sub-units constantly changing each comeback (lets say hypothetically next comeback is split between 4 six-member units each with a 4-song mini album and the following comeback being 3 eight-member units) We'll always be seeing fresh member combinations and different styles often. While B-sides all have that tripleS feel to them, many have been very different to eachother.

it's funny you pointing this one out, because ironically the songs that have gone viral in recent kpop times are those songs with the ability to be repetitive. the trend actuallty started with cupid, or you can say the same with attention aswell, perfect night or even drama, moving forward now we have magnetic. to be able to highlight their own signature into their own style of song, I think tripleS did really well, ohh and the entire album is that good.

What are u talking about? The members of tripleS have more chances to shine with their subunit system than NCT. They even went on tours with smaller units (separately). Looks like you don't follow tripleS if that's what you think. lmao

@@GK-dl8bi Obviously my post got you in your feelings. You mention their sub units at if I didn’t know they exist when I clearly stated sub-unit in the second line of the first paragraph. Also, when I said “have a chance to shine” I didn’t refer to the members themselves literally, I am rather talking about their style/method of delivery. I used NCT as an example because both groups have a lot of members and as such is the best example to make a comparison. Now if you wanted an explanation because you didn’t understand, you should’ve just said that. When you listen to NCT sub-unit songs, it’s very easy to tell who is rapping or singing. Perhaps voice is obvious for some but for others, simply the style of that individual’s delivery can be an identifier. Take Taeyong for example, his voice is already unique sounding compared to the other members which allows him to stand out but that alone is not what allows him to shine. Someone could have a unique voice but still fall short or have their voice blend in or even fade out among other members, so what is it that makes him shine… his VOCAL INTONATION. Let’s look at WJSN, a 10 member girl group. Although Seola is just one of the vocalist among the 10, her voice is easily recognizable in songs outside of her sub-unit WJSN The Black. Why? Tone and singing style. If you listen to her voice in the sub-unit songs and compare it to the group’s songs, you will find that her voice is still noticeable. Seola purposely makes the end of her sentences, particularly the last word she says airy. So when she’s singing, you can distinguish that it’s her singing rather than a different vocalist member. The point I was making with TripleS as far as letting them “shine” refers to opportunities to showcase their individual vocal style. The thing about repetitive songs is that because the lyrics is meant to be sang in the same consistent melody, there is really no chance to stand out unless that person has a unique voice to begin with. Hopefully their next title track can stray away from their current sound BUT I would like to add that I heard their album and the b-sides are definitely what I think they should incorporate into the next title track. I especially enjoyed Non Scale, Beyond the Beyond and Dimension.
