The recipe for orange Julius is easy. The reason it’s different now is because they can’t use raw egg white to make it frothy. They use egg white protein powder now. The original was oj, egg white, vanilla, ice & then blend.

Adam, I was born and raised in the Valley. We considered Burbank etc not so much the Valley. Van Nuys over to Chatsworth was more the Valley. We once had ranches, farms, orange and olive groves. Bob's Big Boy, Van Nuys Airport, Wednesday night cruising with classic and sports cars. General Motors, classic signs, Shakeys Pizza, A &W, Pioneer Chicken, Phil Ahns Moongate Restaurant, Drive ins, drive in Restaurants, Orange Julius, filming and so much more. Thanks for the memories.

Yep Adam that's the E.T. Kuwahara that Elliott rode! Super collectible BMX bike! "In 2002 Kuwahara decided to reissue the ET model as part of the ET anniversary and the first year anniversary of the opening of Universal Studios in Japan. Kuwahara made a limited run of 300 bikes which used NOS (New Old Stock) frame and fork kits from the early 80's and later model parts that were similar (but not authentic) for a special anniversary edition of the ET Kuwahara that was known as the KZ-2.5"🚴👽

While my mom was at the doctor across the street, he would take us there to get hot chocolate with whipped cream. So, did you ever find out what the pillar was from? I too was disappointed that there was no upstairs. The college should give those amazing giant figures to the Modern Relics Museum. I adored this vid. You guys have a great chemistry, just saying. You are a great vlogging team, that's for sure. She keeps things light and happy and you tell the info and keep it all real. I alway like when you two get together! The Jack-In-The-Box head was attached to a square that had the first microphone ordering. I have memories of my Mom and my brother and I going to ours, in San Diego and they were not creepy (just the head, alone and not lit up or with the friendly voice and it's base is what is creepy). 💔You inow it just kills me that these things that people look down their nose at (not you, Adam), like Sambos (which you clearly love too) were created with such love. My dad used to take me there for breakfast. It was basically a Denny's, but with an enchanting theme (beautiful wall murils, and illustrated menus) of a fable of a little Indian boy who chased a tiger around and around a tree, until he turned into butter! So sweet and cute. The story was on the menu. Look if someone takes something good, kind and upstanding and tries to make something bad out of it. It is that hateful behavior that is deplorable, but not the innocent thing that got pulled into it. People should know that this was a place that everyone loved and fear took it from us.😿

The most interesting thing happening at Bob’s Big Boy at the moment is that it’s the official hub for striking members for the WGA thanks to Drew Carey. Mr. Carey is comping the tabs for all striking members of the Writer’s Guild of America. Since that’s something important and unique happening at Bob’s right now… it wasn’t mentioned.

@@user-bl6ne3hc6n Why revisit this place without mentioning ANYTHING new? I'm a fan that is frustrated by this redundancy, especially with new stuff happening not being mentioned. The girl mentions the hoary old trivia about the booth and what's the point of watching them eat there? What was she laughing at throughout? Bob's Big Boy in Burbank, along with Swingers in Hollywood, have made national news thanks to Drew Carey's act of generosity. Every studio has picket lines right now. They could have made "A Day in the Valley" memorable and instead it was more run of the mill content instead of mentioning historic current events.

15:36 - Very Nice to see that Vintage BMX is represented there! The E.T. bike was a model from Kuwahara because it's the same brand, model, that "Elliot" rode in the movie. Kuwahara was a Japanese brand of course, but BMX is definitely rooted in the Valley and many of the bikes were produced in SoCal. I just recently saw that they released a 40th anniversary edition of the bike! Also, there is a movie called "joe kid on a stingray" that talks about the birth of BMX until the present.
