So grateful that there are people that take the time to post these types of videos! You just saved me so much aggravation. I couldn't figure out how I was going to find the source of my air leak, and the first thing I tried, using your method found the leak right away! It was the drain plug. Thank you so much!

Thank you you saved my pool. I am trying to prime my pool for 2 weeks now. I came across your video and found the air leak in 20 second.. It was in the jandy 3 way valve. Now my pool is fully primed. You are the best.

Thank you for posting this video! My pool guy made two trips and was unable to locate the air leak. I've spent a few hours myself trying different methods to locate the leak. Found your video and voila, air leak located in one minute. I'm embarrassed to say that it was a badly deteriorated O ring on the strainer pot drain plug. Much appreciated!!

no-nonsense. thank you. hate videos where they talk for 10 minutes about 3 ways to find leaks (none of which work), when all you need is the BEST way, and a 2 minute video showing it. my leak was hard to find, it was those twist pipe connectors. A little teflon tape and bam... fixed.

Awesome! Had this issue tonight after opening up for the season. It was also the drain hole that was not tight enough. Made figuring out where the leak was very simple. Thank you!

Wow..this guy just saved me some $$. I knew I had a suction leak somewhere. Ended up having two leaks. One at the lid and one at the inlet pipe where it meets up with a Jandy valve. Easy fix. Thanks!!

My pump hasn't been priming for at least two months and I've run water on all the joints I saw on other videos. Mentioning to start at the bottom at the drain plug ended up being the solution to my problem. As soon as I ran water on the drain plug I could hear the suction pulling the water in and the filter basket finally primed. Unbelievably the drain plug fell off (detached from the threads) as soon as I tried to unscrew it. Thanks for the informative video.

I replaced the pump lid gasket as the usual suspect. Didn't work. Found this video and found a 1/4" gap in an o-ring on a space saver manual valve. Hard to believe that little leak could allow so much air. It didn't leak water because it was on the top side of the o-ring. Took me less than a minute to work back from my drain plug to pump lid to jandy valve to the problem...on the very last valve. Thanks for posting!!

This idea worked perfectly!! When I put the hose over the lid the air bubbles left. It also kept the water good for about an hour so far. I brought the lid to the store and they said everything looked good so I’m not really sure what the exact problem was but I now know where it is. Maybe the extra water sealed something?? Not sure...

I replaced an old gasket and found that I had a HUGE amount of air in the pump. I checked the filter and noticed it was at 20. So I cleaned the filter and put it back and that solved my issue. Also I used a bit of super lube on both the filter gasket and the pump gasket. Thanks for the tip. However, I would add a note to your video to make sure your filter pressure is optimal before starting this.

If you have Jandy gate valves on your suction line, check them too. The o-rings under the cover crack over time and allow air into the system. Replaced both valve o-rings and solved the problem.

Just tried it and it worked. Turns out I had a leaking o ring on one of the valve actuator handle shafts. It was hard to get to because the auto valve actuator on the top of the valve body was in the way, but when I directed a light flow of water between the actuator and the valve body, the bubbles instantly went away.

How about determine if a valve is leaking in the return side? I have a Jandy 3406 space saver 3 way port and it’s dripping where the union is. Could it be the orings that need replacement? Or does the PVC cement degrade and start leaking over time?!? Thanks!

What do you suggest for cavitation that only occurs during a certain pop up cycle? For example the pump runs perfectly but then when the pop ups begin to cycle it begins to churn and get loud during one specific pop up zone. Once that pop up zone session ends it gets quiet again and no churning. I can't seem how to get it to stop just for the one cycle. Help!

After many founds of troubleshooting my basket and return bubbles, I tried the video suggestion, but I still cant find the leak. My dedicated suction line fills the basket fully without the use of hoses. As soon as I attach the hoses, the bubbles begin. Is it my hoses that are creating cavitation?
