New Zealand Rugby's voting members gathered for a Special General Meeting last week to vote on a proposed governance reform - in the end, 'Proposal 2' passed by 69 votes to 21.
This will allow the provincial unions to still have three seats on the board, compared to the failed 'Proposal 1' (voted against by 59 to 31) that would've instated the recommendations made by the Pilkington Report for a fully independent board.
So, where does that leave rugby union in New Zealand? How will it impact both the professional and amateur levels of the sport?
NZ Rugby CEO Mark Robinson joined Scotty Stevenson & Israel Dagg in-studio today on SENZ to discuss what positives there are currently, the provincial unions, how fundamental the NPC is to the game, and more.
