Regarding the looks v sounds dilemma, i had my heart set on getting a 59 Gibson custom Shop LP RI. I played 4 bursts in shop , each one looked amazing. But I was disappointed in how the sounded. I was getting ready to buy on when the salesman saw I was not overjoyed….after I told him why, he quickly returned with a ‘58 CS LP that he had been saving for himself….you can see where this story is heading. I will never sell this guitar --definitely sound and feel looks…

Just a fun nerdy tip on gold hardware. I know everyone likes it aged, but you can bring back some luster on gold hardware by dipping it (remove and reinstall) in jewelry cleaner. I have a guitar with gold hardware that was pretty oxidized when i bought it used and this did quite the job.

I love watching Anderton's videos. I live in the US so it's unfortunately difficult to visit. If I'm ever lucky enough to visit Britain some day, Anderton's is definitely a must stop. My main guitar is blue though my favorite color is purple (like Pete!). I found I like ES-339s the best (though my SG and Les Paul will always have a special place in my heart), and since Gibson 339s are way out of my price range, the closest Epiphone has to a purple 339 is pelham blue. I have added a bit of purple to it with a sparkle purple/black/aqua swirl pick-guard with an outer space vibe, though. :)

I can’t believe this Andertons is the same company (probably not the same building?) that me and my teenage friend Chris used to jump the train at Farnborough North station to go to Guilford and make a day of it with a visit to this establishment where we both drooled over the guitars and in 1972 i bought a drum kit for £25!!! We then headed to Plumbers to annoy the security woman there. After that it was Monks walk to have coffee freshly roasted in the window. God i would love to go and visit some of those memories for real!😊👍

The nice thing is that with the multitude of incredible guitars available today, one need not compromise, and can have a guitar that both looks amazing AND sounds amazing. Certainly that's the case if you can afford high end, but I think that there are many guitars, even at a relatively affordable price, that both look and sound amazing. My Gretch Electromatic (5420T) in Fairline Blue (I'll bet Mimi would love it) is a good example. Many of the PRS SE's are stunning and sound fantastic, but won't break the bank.

Pete is clearly a very talented player. It is criminal that he has trouble finding work, down to cost issues. What he has above younger lesser cost players, is years of experience, a quality that surely has a value. Reminds me of the saying " When you buy quality you only cry once", and these remarks, in this comments section, come from a retired accountant, and frustrated guitarist, that wishes he was so much better, and really envies guitar players like Pete.

I don't know who I am more jealous of, Mia, for going to Anderton's, or Lee for hosting Mia! That was a terrific tour of the backroom at Andertons. That has to be one of the best rooms in the world for a guitarist. When Lee told her he sees her as just a guitar player, I was hoping Mia would turn toward him, place her fingers on her straps, and say, "Do you really mean that?" I am sorry if that comes across as sexist, and I agree, the guitarist's sex should be irrelevant. I suppose we can look forward to a time when there are just as many female players as male, but for now, Mia really rocks, in every way!
