Marjorie Rawlings house where she wrote "The Yearling" coincidentally was also a great movie w Gregory Peck made. Also the Ford/Edison houses would be good trips to take. You may have already vlogged those but Florida has sooo many odd and interesting places to visit. A good book to get and gander at is "Weird Florida" by Charlie Carlson RIP. Might be able to get off thriftbooks or amazon.

I loved hanging out with my friends and family at the mall, playing games in the arcade, then wandering over to the movie theater to watch a movie. Life seemed so much simpler and exciting. Boring stories: When we'd drive to Orlando from Eau Gallie, we would take 192 to Orange Blossom about half the time, but we often took US-1 to Cocoa, and then the "Bithlo Cutoff", which was FL 520. It started at Byrd Plaza, at least after they built Byrd Plaza, and went through the pines and oaks until it reached FL 50 in Bithlo..I don't think we ever went through Christmas, although, of course, I always wanted to see it. I only remember two details about the town of Bithlo: a furniture store, which I like to think was Indian River Furniture, although I don't know; and the highlight of our trip home, if I could get my parents to stop: the Dairy King dairy dip, with the rare, chocolate, soft serve ice cream cones! In my mind, I don't even see anymore buildings in Bithlo but those two, although I'm sure there were houses, small stores, etc. At the furniture store, I stayed out in the car in the backseat, and played "The Silver Service" with my backseat throw pillow "doll", while my parents looked at the furniture they wanted to see. One time, we took a rarely taken shortcut through the trees, starting at a road that began next to the German restaurant on US-1 in Rockledge, a restaurant which was later changed to Ashley's. There's no road at all there anymore! It may have been a long driveway, which continued on to another driveway, which came out on 520. We drove deeper and deeper into the woods, which was kind of spooky. After turning in different directions many times, we passed a decayed "mansion" in the distant trees. This was closer to 520 and 50 than US-1; not long after, we came to the familiar paved road. I see no trace of any road through there on Google Maps, or any old house, but I know that we did take that road. It was probably reclaimed by the forest long ago, just like that house was falling down in the forest around 1959-60. Another time, around 1960 or 61, my mom had been told about a great antique shop in a small town north of 50. She loved to go junking with the girls, and one of our friends had told her about this place. So we drove off FL 50, toward this town, on I do not know which road. We drove through countryside with small farms, and mile after mile of "no civilization", meaning no stores, restaurants, or even gas stations or garages with telephone booths. It was overcast and threatening to rain, which made the ponds we encountered seem more dangerous. And of course, we had nothing like a cell phone . We eventually came to the first of two towns on the list, which I believe was Geneva, although it looked much smaller than today. We saw the white, Victorian, two-story antique store, and another building, both with no sign of anyone being inside. To even get to them, we had to drive between two ponds, very close to the road, or at least that's how I remember it. I'm pretty sure that Oviedo was the second town we were trying for, although we turned around and went back to East Colonial, instead. We had managed not to be caught by a downpour, so we took no more chances. I knew the names of the towns from the weather forecasts on TV, so I wanted to see both of them, so I could say I had been to those places on TV. My mom had a friend named Geneva back in Tennessee, so that's one reason I think that was the name of the town we reached..You would think we went to the frontier in a Conestoga wagon, as big an adventure as we acted like it was. I'd love to go back there and drive around.

The celebration office buildings at 21:09 used to be Disney office buildings. The Disney Institute was there, and Imagineering had some offices in there, and Disney Cruise Line had offices there. No doubt, other Disney related offices too. I’ve been to many movies at the Osceola Square, Mall. Many at the one attached to it and also the satellite one that you were showing. It looks like it needs to be torn down. I used to go to the shopping mall in Oviedo. I wonder if it even exists anymore. I’ve always heard of Bithlo and Geneva, but never went there.

In Tallahassee we have "urban infill" law so most places that get built have to be on an older existing lang that's already been used meaning something old has to be torn down. We love our trees and don't want urban sprawl to go over into our beautiful piney woods that ring the whole city. I love the old buildings too though but progress has to go on I suppose and it gives construction folk something to do. It can be very expensive to retro fit a building probably cheaper to start over and build new. I think I remember rax roast beefs somewhere. HEY WHERE DID YA LIVE IN THE PANHANDLE? just curious.
