if the value is -37 that mean the value itself already in 1's complement or still need to negate from 1 0100101 to 0 1011010 ? and then add 1?

You need to convert +37 to binary (8 bits, 16 bits, 32 bits etc. depending on CPU system). Then take the twos complement of the binary number to give -37 Bw Phil

+Annie Roy Convert +32 to an eight bit binary number. Take this number and produce the 2's complement of it. Now you have two eight bit binary patterns. Add these two binary patterns and make sure you ignore any carry that goes into what would be the 9th bit position i.e. just look at the least significant 8 bit positions these should all be zero. Now the hardware of the CPU looks at these 8-bit positions if it is using 8-bit registers i.e it ignores the carry flag. This shows that when you add +32 to -32 you get zero. Regards Phil
