I found tokyo was SO good for matcha, buying from little hidden shops all over the place, ones I dont think would be listed online and the vibrancy of the matcha was heaven on earth

You guys are funny with the western tongue. Maybe your preference is more matcha latte. The matcha you will find in Japan may be too real for you at the moment... get out of the trendy places and find a real teahouse. Try Ippodo in Marunouchi... another in Omotesando in the Spiral Building is the best in Tokyo... there is another in my neighborhood in Kichijoji and on the weekend you can't find a seat. Matcha is a bit of a niche in Tokyo but those who are into it are very passionate. Good luck on your search. Ganbatte!

Traditionally, eat sweet first and drink Mucha. It will taste different and better that way. Same as wine and food, or each tradition has reasons. I understand that most of the Macha drink or macha sweets you tried in Japan are not authentic because real good ones are very expensive. But l think that was one of the ways to spread to many people, or to Westerners. Or it might have come from Westerners. You know better, probably. So, it is a bit funny to watch this with culture sensitivity. Good luck with your business ❤

From a young age we spent time in Japan and had matcha, it was always bitter except for a few times from experiences with matcha from the south. It's a fun journey finding ways to innovate with something I grew up drinking. Hope you enjoye the adventure.

Maybe you're used to the taste of matcha lattes that have more milk with matcha that has medium-light body. High quality matcha is supposed to have a light natural sweetness. But I guess, enjoying high quality matcha is an acquired taste. I've ordered the Matcha Tokyo multiple times and their matcha does not taste like seaweed at all.

Super interesting! I was able to get matcha lattes pretty much everywhere in Tokyo, but didn't see straight matcha offered a lot. Some of the nice hotels have it offered in their lobby cafes. I'd love to see what you can find in Kyoto and Uji! Definitely had a lot of matcha there

Japan is great for matcha, Ippodo, Marukyu Koyamaen, Yamamasa Koyamaen, Ryouen in Kyoto, so many blends, so tasty, NOT BITTER, and not expensive :) Do save up what you would spend on the brown paper bag and go to Japan

I think you should come to China. More than 80% of Japan's matcha comes from China😁
