Abilify has so far worked for me. We did have to increase the dose when I had breakthrough symptoms so hopefully it keeps working at the new dose. Thanks for the video!

I use seroquel as well. I decided to go off it daily and use it as needed now. It still works this way, except when depression comes, it takes longer to bounce back up. It was the first and only antipsychotic i needed because it worked to ease several issues.

True. It took about 10 different ones to find a good one. Old ones worked the best though terrible side effects in my case. Latuda was useless for me as well.

Hey man just wanted to say I love your videos. I have mixed bipolar primarily and have been hospitalized 6 times in the past 6-7 years. Was on Seroquel, Zyprexa, and Wellbutrin. Now I can' t take Seroquel because of tachycardia. The Zyprexa now is not effective even with does increase. I have taken most of all the newer Antipsychotics and non seem to be effective. I am on Lithium, Vraylar, Zyprexa but don't seem to be working. I am worried I won't find a med for me.

It's definitely hard for some people like I mentioned. I wish I could say that loxapine would work for everyone as well as it has for me but there seems to be so much variability between people. I hope you stick with it and find a good fit soon. Stay strong, brother!

was on 5mg prozac for decades for anxiety/panic/depression but when i lost mom and dad 4 months ago, my anxiety/depression/ptsd became intolerable and so we went to go up to 20mg and and stayed on it for 4 weeks but wasnt getting benefit for anxiety just depression and dr switched to pristiq 25mg and now anxiety is now even worse! I dont know what to do anymore.. i also take risperidone 1mg for last few weeks for anxiety but does nothing forf daytime anxiety - only works for sleep but arent you worried about weight gain, diabetes, cholesterol with antipsychotic?

Geodon (ziprasidone) needs to be taken with at least a 500 calorie meal to work well. The higher the calories, the more the medication is absorbed in the body. So if you can get more than 500 calories in, the medication will work even better.

Asenapine is the only antipsychotic I have ever taken that makes me normal without weight gain. The only problem it does cause akathisia. Other than that this is the only medication that I've been able to tolerate and stay on.

You are lucky it worked for you. My husband was put on it back in 2021 while hospitalized but unfortunately, he developed a rash which is one of the possible side effects so he had to be taken off it so we'll never know if it would have worked. He was diagnosed in 1992 and has been on numerous drug cocktails since. Some have worked better than others but they have taken their toll by now causing weight gain, hypertension, diabetes, etc.
