Hey there! So I am still getting use to having fine, thin, oily hair after having my first (and only) child. My hair has always been very fine and oily, but it has thinned a LOT from all the crazy hormone fluctuations. I wanted to say thank you for making this video. I may not have extensions, but following the rest of these steps has really made a difference in how my hair looks and how I feel about myself.

You shouldn’t use a towel to dry your hair because the fibers in it make your hair cuticles all weird and damaged. You should search this up cause it’s really bad for your hair. Try using a cotton t-shirt or a MICROFIBER towel. Hope this helps your hair!

So I have super fine and thin hair. I don’t use any heat on it, not even to blow dry it. My hair goes down to the bottom of my shoulder blades. By the end of everyday my hair is super knotted and matted down towards the back of my neck and bottom of my head if that makes sense. It takes me a solid hour to brush the knots out and I’m super careful and I use a wet brush. I learned if I use any products besides conditioner, the knots get way worse to the point where people point them out. I want to find a way to make my hair voluminous and not super knotted down. I have tried not using conditioned, using a normal amount of conditioner, and using a lot of conditioner. I’ve even put conditioner in my hair when it’s dry and it still gets in knots. My hair is very very flat and I don’t know how to fix it. I’ve tried so much to make it better but I don’t know how. Does anyone have any advice on how to fix the knots or make my hair more voluminous without making my knots worse and my hair greasy?

I have the exact same problem. Haven't found a solution that works for me yet. Even when I've just brushed it, it will start to tangle immediatly. I naturally have very fine flat blonde hair and it takes me 30 minutes everyday to brush out the knots with a wide comb. I don't use any styling products or blow dry my hair and I even put moroccain oil in it to give it extra moisture. It's especially my hair in the back and I've found that even adding extra conditioner will just make it sticky. I've tried so many different shampoos and conditioners, but nothing seems to do the trick, so was hoping to find some good tips on this as well
@kyliedaly1306
5 жыл бұрын
Mizzarh it’s nice to know I’m not the only fine, thin haired person that has this problem. I used to get knots out of my hair with a comb, but I suggest a wet brush. You can use it even if your hair isn’t wet and it helps get the knots out faster and with less damage. My hair still gets in tons of knots but the wet brush saves you a lot more time trying to get the knots out.

My hair strands are very thin, and they’re very straight. When i try to tie my hair up they’ll somehow drop and get loose from the hair tie.. I find that my hair get knots in wintertime when the air is dry and my hair is definitely not benefiting from the dry air.. So I’d say keeping the hair moisturized with mask (i use plarmia scalp balancing mask) and getting a little trim(like, an inch) once every 3-6 months help.

I have super thin hair but a lot of it. I have no idea why my hair type tangles and knots so easily but this is what I do for mine. I also tried using little to no conditioner but my hair was breaking so bad just trying to brush it. Now in the shower, I use conditioner until it's just about an inch from my scalp. I let it sit very shortly, maybe 30 seconds to a minute. If it's still knotty after showering, I use argan oil on the body of my hair and brush the product through with either my fingers or a brush/comb. Good luck!

Your hair isn’t really thin. It’s fine, yes, but not thin. My hair is thin AND fine…One section of your hair is my whole head. Your bangs is my whole head of hair when I pull it together. I understand how your fine hair is fragile though. And it gets oily so fast. Tape in and bonded extensions are terrible for fine hair. They pull on it and make it way worse. The clip ins aren’t as bad as those though. Because they aren’t there all the time. Products are my best friend. And I agree a MUST have. The volumizing powders are great for lift at the root. I only discovered them this year. But loooovveee them.

Just watched this video, I too have fine and thinner hair, even finer than yours and I was just curious about the extensions. I tried clip in extensions in high school and they severely damaged my hair. I really want to try extensions again, but I really want to stay away from clip-ins. Just curious if you, or anyone else who reads this, has tried other types of extensions that work better with thin, fine hair?

I am wondering about the Dyson hair dryer. It has rave reviews.. One reviewer said she got smooth,, sleek hair with the comb attachment.. Does it come with a comb attachment? I,'m not great at blow drying my hair. I end up with frizzy, fly-away hair. Is this dryer worth the investment?

Hey girl!! Great video once again!! I was loving how u curled ur bangs to give them volume. However, when I use curlers on my hair it turns out like an extreme version of a thinned haired curly sue. Lmao. So spirally and never wavy. Idk how the hell to use curlers for a subtle wave. It never comes out right. If u can make a video on that it would be awesome. Also, the music was a little too loud in this one mama. It was almost at the same level as your voice so it was kinda hard focusing on what u were saying. First time that's ever happened on any of ur vidz that I've seen. Anyways, always love ur tips and tricks for us fine hair gals. C ya on ur next one!! 😊

On the days you don’t wash your hair do you still get it wet in the shower or do you cover it? Right now I wash my hair every morning but if I start skipping some days wasn’t sure how you handled it when you bathed on the skip days. My hair is fine and thin, which equals lifeless, so I thought this might help.

Hey Jennifer! No, if I'm not washing it I don't get it wet because it messes with the texture that I usually jhave going and just flattens it out again. I'll just put a towel around my head while in the shower!

7:48 Clip in hair extensions? Uh...obviously that helps build hair volume etc. Should have mentioned this at the beginning instead of half way through the video...misleading. I have fine thin hair too (and unlike most people in the comments think - fine/thin refers to the strands being smaller than those with coarse hair so you can have "lots" of fine/thin hair but there's no volume or texture - it lays flat). In my late 20s I started getting oily at the back, I never had this problem before, but luckily dry shampoo came on the market! However, now I have an itchy scalp, even though I wash my hair regularly but I am needing to rub conditioner into my scalp to combat the discomfort. With fine/thin hair this doesn't help as the moisture is needed on the ends that become split within a couple weeks of a trim. Any ideas?
