Great review as always. I am glad to see that some dash cam manufacturers are now building in the GPS rather than having to run yet another wire around the car, brilliant. I also love the traffic in front starting to go and it will notify you (you mentioned this briefly). I have this on my garmin gps/dashcam and love that feature.

@@chefgav1 If you look you will still see quite a few that you have to run the antenna separately and with running power and other cams as well it becomes a wire nightmare.

Ah, Almost the perfect dashcam for me! I love the wedge shape and the features it has, BUT I am looking for one which has Cloud/Remote Live View feature with phone alerts. This way if there is a Parking impact, I would be notified on my phone and immediately watch the event and also tap in to watch live. I am developing a system with some off the shelf components that will hopefully create a parking mode impact whenever certain car alarm sensors are triggered (using a timer relay, a 12v to 3v adapter, and a small 3v vibrating motor). The motor simulates a phones vibration and will attach to the case of a dadhcam (velcro/3m tape/etc). Whenever the car alarm sensor is tripped, the motor will be powered on for just a second using the timer relay and 3v converter. The alarm sensors I'm testing are ultrasonic sensors (leave a window open and someone sticks an arm inside), duak stage proximity sensors (someone gets too close/peering into your window) and shock sensors. I've found that these would really cover me in the area I live in. I got that first partof the system complete, just need to now select a dash cam, test if the vibrating motors I have will trigger an impact recording, and finally fine tune all sensor adjustments in real time with the dashcam. Hope to make a video on this some day, it seems like a project you would find neat! Saludos amigo!

@AlexAutoFun
Жыл бұрын
Hi sokan1947! I think the best dash cam depends on what you are looking for in a dash cam. I run different ones on my cars so what I usually tell people looking for the right dash cam for them is to start by picking the style of dash cam (Mirror or classic stick). Then how many cameras does it need to have (1, 2 or 3). Now that you have narrowed your selections, consider how much you want to spend on one, that will narrow your choices even further. Then consider any special features you are looking for such as 360° video, Side Camera, Wi-Fi, Parking monitor without hardwire, cloud support, High Frame Rate. Finally you would want to compare video quality (I have several dashcam reviews on my channel under the playlist "dashcams" if you like to compare). I just began working on a video to compare my top picks for different categories, stay tuned, Cheers!

@@chefgav1 Hi chefgav! While the Viofo looks like a great dash cam (currently working on that review) If parking monitoring is important, then I would still pick the GX1000 both for it's buffered parking mode, smart time lapse or ultra low power consumption mode. Hope this helps, Cheers!

Hi Alex, my name is Jesus, I really want to get a mirror dash camera, but the more important feature that i want from the camera is to have control or access (remote monitoring) to real live video through the app from anywhere, if you know some opcions let me know, Thank you

Hi Alberto! Ah yes Wifi and APP support on mirror dash cams is a rare option, however here is one that supports it kzitem.info/news/bejne/w4KbvoCXonyiY6TT However for what you are trying to do (live view, notifications to your phone etc.) you would want a Cloud enabled dash cam like this one kzitem.info/news/bejne/o3d7rmica6edeKg And I have more dash cam reviews on my channel in the playlist "Dash Cams Reviews" if you like to compare them. Do you think this is better than the Thinkware Q800 Pro?
@AlexAutoFun
Жыл бұрын
Hi King Matt! Ah good question, the Thinkware Q800 while similar in form factor is a very different dash cam. The Q800 Pro is a cloud enabled dash where the GX1000 is a Wifi enabled dash cam. The GX1000 supports Smart Time Lapse for both driving and parking mode, where the Q800 Pro only supports normal time lapse in parking mode. The GX100 has a maximum temp rating of 158° where the Q800 pro maxes out at 140°. The lens on the GX1000 has 122° degree field of view where the Q800 Pro has a 140° degree field of view. The G1000X records in AVI format where the Q800Pro records in .MP4 format just to name some differences. So it's going to come down to which feature is more important to you I think. Here is the full review for the Q800Pro if you like to compare kzitem.info/news/bejne/o3d7rmica6edeKg Hope this helps, Cheers!

@@AlexAutoFun why is the hybrid parking mode even required for a hardwired connection for a hybrid given the camera only taps into the standard 12 v battery?
@AlexAutoFun
Жыл бұрын
@@chefgav1 Hi chefvag1! Good question, some Hybrids (for a variety of reasons) are very sensitive to having hardwire kits into them and some models won't even tolerate any type of power draw of their systems (throwing the an error code or MIL light). While I had viewers successfully hardwire dash cams into a Hybrid, I also had others that found a hardwire kit would not work with their car, it just really seems to depend on the model. Hope this helps, Cheers!
