The way your hair turned out is exactly how my hair looks after raking in gel in large chunks...I don't finger coil or anything. People ALWAYS, ALWAYS ask me who did my hair or how I got it to coil like that. When I tell them that that is how my hair naturally curls, they don't believe me! I never understood it until I watched this video! Beautiful!

Great results! It's funny because I actually tried finger coils for a wash n go look this weekend and it was a huge hit!!!! I have been natural for 3years (MBL) and had COMPLETELY written off WNG's....nearly cried (lol not really but I was so excited) when I saw the definition. My method differs from yours: I started on dry hair; took 1-2 inch sections, spritzed a bit of water then rubbed in leave-in, styler and a bit of oil; combed through, then coiled from root to tip using fingers. It took just over an hour to complete my entire head and I'd say about 4 hours for my hair to air-dry. The next morning starting at the back, I separated them. My favorite things about this style it is how natural it looks, and the fact that it's my natural curl pattern so the frizz just blends in (as opposed to a rod set or other stretched styles) if that makes any sense 😊... Today is day 2 and I may easily get 3-4 days from this style (whenever I wear my hair out it usually lasts a day before I detangle and/or wash). Blessings.

I'm glad you slightly reviewed that defuser, because I saw it at sallys a month or so ago and was gonna pick it up. I thought it would be convenient for my lifestyle since it's collapsible.

Cool video! Thanks for sharing. I love the results. Just FYI - what you're doing in the video is not really finger coiling as such... it's more like 'shingling' with twirl of the ends of your hair. When I do that I usually apply a leave-in, a curl and style product then either a gel or some foam (Shea Moisture Anti Frizz Foam) and yes it definitely improves definition! Finger coils on the other hand, I use a wrapping lotion (currently have LottaBody products) and this is when I take bigger sections of hair and make ringlets/curls all over my head, starting the curl at the roots of my hair. I allow it to air dry (usually overnight) and the next day I separate the curls. This also gives quite a lot of definition and lasts quite a long time.

No shingling is different. I see a lot of people confused the too. Shingling is when you smooth down and define your curls curl by curl. This method is called soft finger coils. Similar to traditional finger coils but your only coiling the ends instead of the entire strand to show off more of your natural Hair texture. With more defined and coiled ends.

Does the Eco style gel like make your hair crunchy? I want to try this method, but I'm scared that the gel may like mess up my hair. Loved the results❤️
@AsToldByAllie
9 жыл бұрын
Riyanna Williams it does sometimes. it depends on the amount of product you already had in your hair and how much gel you put. but your hair could be different than mine. I wouldn't worry about it "messing up your hair" though, because if you're hair doesn't like it, you'll know; and just wash it out :)

Is the right side of your hair longer than the left(or vice versa)? If so is that naturally how your hair grows or did you cut it like that? Btw this style came out GORGEOUS!!!
@AsToldByAllie

Brandy Williams do you mean in the intro and outro of the video? i just swept my hair over to one side so it kinda looked shorter. my hair is the same length. the sides of my hair are the shortest part so it gave the illusion that it was really short lol

Coiling and shingling what's the difference?
@AsToldByAllie
8 жыл бұрын
1) shingling - running your fingers, formed as somewhat of a wide tooth comb, downward from roots to tip 2) coiling- separating curls individually and wrapping them around your finger to more heavily define them.
