They say that over the course of running a 100 mile ultramarathon you experience an entire lifetime compressed down into a single day. So what the hell would that mean for me and my brother as we lined up for a 200 mile race?
For two average runners, the Bigfoot 200 seemed right on the edge of possible - it is a 206.5 mile point to point race in the Cascade Mountains of Washington state and is widely considered one of the hardest ultramarathons out there. Runners would battle epic storms, traverse remote and forgotten trails, endure extreme fatigue, and experience wild hallucinations. Fortunately, I would be running Bigfoot with my older brother/best friend Drew.
Attempting Bigfoot surely would not have been possible without the support of our families and our selfless crew, Audra and Nate Rundle. Sharing in this experience with my brother was profound and that's why my wife and I made this movie as a surprise gift dedicated to him.
