Loved your video. Your concept is clever. It’s always interesting to see how sometimes our opinion of a book can change as we progress through it. I’ve read 2 of these series (Alexis Hall’s and Freya Marske’s) and absolutely agree with your assessments. ‘Husband’ was frustrating right until the very end. It was kinda annoying to see Luc and Oliver arguing over and over as to how to define their relationship. They see eye to eye about what they feel for each other, but diverge over pretty much everything else, most crucually about what’s next in terms of cementing their bond. I gave it 3 stars because I liked that they finally found a solution to their conundrum. A last minute, last ditch effort at a compromise, unsatisfactory in a sense, but hey! Better that than a split, right ? ‘Power Unbound’ is indeed the best of the trilogy. I liked pretty much everything in it. My favourite characters are still Robert and Edwin (from book 1) and I’m happy that Marske still has them present in that 3rd part. I gave the book 4 stars (like book 1). I found the magic world a bit hard to get into - a lot more complicated than Harry Potter IMO, with so many different kinds of magic - a clever idea to be sure, but that means a double personality for each character: their own human personality and history, but also a different kind of magic/magical function for each of them. It’s like 10 characters become 20. Since English is not my first language, I was sometimes a bit confused. But kudos for inventing an absolutely original and captivating magical world on top of some really engrossing queer relationships.

thank you so much for your engaging comment!! it really was interesting going back and watching some of my earlier clips when filming my final updates and seeing how much my opinion changed (for husband material especially!). and you're very right about 'a power unbound' - it certainly was a lot of moving pieces involved that you had to keep straight and i think that's what i struggled the most with in the first book as it felt like a learning curve! i think i have to agree with you though: 'a power unbound' is my favorite book overall in the series, but Robin and Edwin remain my favorite characters & couple 🥹
