No doubt the best bus conversion on the road! I would rather have this bus conversion than any high end motor coach on the market!

Juan Michelle and family. Last August when we visited you at KOA Doswell Virginia I had no idea of what the finish was and what went into it I made sure that I watched every video kind of cheering you all on. I found the coach to be very comfortable even though the humidity of Virginia was very high like it is today about 85%. I really liked everything about what I saw and touched in your home. But the best part was interacting with you and your family you make this a real home. Thank you so much for sharing your journeys with all of us. Ed

Thanks, Ed! It has been a comfortable home for us and our friends (like you guys) this past year. We feel very lucky to have such a special place to welcome friends into.

Thanks, Jeff! We mostly care about function, but if some "cute" can be added in, then by all means, we do "cute". Thanks for following along.

This is, and I'm aware that there are totally subjective views on that, in my opinion THE best bus conversion on the Interwebs. 🙏

That's so kind. It was such a long journey building it, but we are so thankful for those like you who have stuck with us and encouraged us along the way.

I always love your videos, BUT, I wish you would use a Rode wireless mic, or equivalent, so we wouldn't have to turn the volume up so high.

Thanks for the feedback. On our end, it sounds loud and clear, so it's always good to know if others are having a different experience. We will look into it.

So cool to time warp back to a year ago when you were still building. Love the sub-floor signing. Great attention to fitment and details, looks better then professional and brilliant to put that underfloor heating in. Cheers.

Ok, so first. Could Michelle have prettier handwriting??? Loved the idea of writing on the sub-floor and doing the hand-prints. Great call on that one, Michelle!! The floor looks amazing. Good call on the vinyl. It's def not grandma's vinyl floor any more. The things that they've done to make that stuff look like everything but vinyl is pretty crazy. And obviously a great choice for a bus since it's held up so well over the last year of being on the road. And, as always, team work makes the dream work. Watching everyone working together to get the bus finished up was joy filled.

Thanks so much for the encouragement. It was so fun to do the handprints and writing. The vinyl has been a great option for us and really has held up well. It was a tedious project, but so exciting as we were getting so close to the end at that point!

Nice job! One thing I would add would be plastic "tub" under the washing machine. It does not prevent (small) leaks, but makes them visible. If I did see correctly washing machine sits now lower than top surface of the floor. Small leak can go under the vinyl even the vinyl itself is waterproof. looking really nice! I that diamond plate looks good!

Yes, we looked into the tub under the washing machine. Splendide actually makes one. Our problem was that the feet for the washing machine sit on top of the tub, but we used the feet to secure the washing machine from sliding. So, it was either secure the machine or use the tray, but not both. We decided that we could put a water sensor under there that is linked to our home automation. Also, we figured that if it was leaking we would hear our water pump running if it happened while off-grid. So, we voted to secure the machine. But, it is something we realized could be problematic since it's slightly lower than our vinyl floors. Definitely something to consider. Thanks!!

Hi again, I have been following the built of this bus from almost the beginning and I must say you still have that same consistency in your work.You investigate what is the best solution for what you need, you seek help and then when it is time to start building it is always: measure twice, cut once. With this floor every piece is laid down so carefully and it all fits (or you don't show us everything 🙂). Congratulations with the result. Have fun, enjoy your trips.

Thanks so much. Nearly every single piece had to be cut. I think we had maybe 6 or 7 pieces total with no cuts. It was certainly tedious, but we are very happy with how it turned out. Thanks so much for following along.

Really nice job installing the floors. All of your projects seem to have the same level of thoughtfulness, detail and quality. Is there anything that hasn't turned out as well as you thought it would? I am glad you are enjoying your bus. Cheers!

Thanks, Bryce! We are researchers by nature, sometimes to our detriment - it did take us over 4 years to finish this build - ha! Thankfully, most everything has turned out exactly how we hoped. There have been a few things that have been a little fiddlier than we hoped (for example, we should have left about 1/4" more clearance for our pocket doors - specifically our front pocket door - when it is super cold or super humid, the door swells just a tiny bit and makes it a little more difficult to slide in the "pocket", not unusable, just a little fiddly - but most of the time it's totally fine).

G'day everyone, another great video. Excellent job on the flooring and the entrance. I liked the piece at the end (current time) showing how things have held up . Q. your messages and hand prints did you take a photo to hang on wall. So thanks for sharing and I look forward to your next video. ✌️Peace from Melbourne Australia.

Wow, that floor sounds luxurious.. ;) Just curious if you had to put a number on the value of that bus as it sits today what do you suppose it would be worth? A couple mil?
@BeginningfromthisMorning
2 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much we love the floors! It would be difficult to put a concrete number on the "worth" of the bus - but it would fall far far short of a couple million. My best guess would be somewhere in the neighborhood of $100k.

So now that you guys are experienced with East Coast "high temp / high humidity" vs your native West Coast "high temp / low humidity", which is worse? :) Which does the bus handle cooling in better? Cheers, Sev
@BeginningfromthisMorning
2 жыл бұрын
We certainly handle the dry better than the humidity. The bus, however, seems to do fine either way. The mini-split is great at dehumidifying and will drain a ton of water out of the air. We can keep it nice and cool in here nearly all the time. Now, when it's 115 in AZ in no shade, even with the dry heat, it's just hard to keep it below about 80F. But, with some shade, we can get it down into the 70s. But, most the time regardless of humidity, we keep it nice in the low-mid 70s inside. We do run an additional dehumidifier if it's extremely humid. Now, in the kids room, they like it COLD, and that little a/c in their room does an awesome job keeping it super cold back there.
