That seemed like quite the storm with the water pouring over the dock. So nice that Jenn’s Mom and Luke could join you for Christmas…family is everything! The food looked awesomely delicious! Sad that a boat sank and someone may have lost their belongings.

Love ya'lls experience on the water. When I had my first custom house built (way back in the 1900's), we had tile counter tops in our kitchen as well. They were larger squares, but the same problem. Steam cleaning the grout will make a drastic change for you. You have to then seal the grout yearly to keep the problem from repeating. Our grout was originally white and we got use to the off-white for so long until we steam cleaned it and realized how dirty we let it get. Ya'll are a lot of fun and love watching the videos!

We have been following your Loop trip for a few weeks as your Cape May video popped up in my feed. Our home is on the beach near Barnegat Light, NJ, which you passed right by on your 'Atlantic day'. I skipped ahead to leave a note as I'm still watching your videos from the Great Lakes. It's amazing how much you have progressed in all your boat skills. I have to say, you both are so much fun to watch. I do watch alot of trawler youtube channels and your channel is very well done. So easy to binge watch with great flow from scene to scene. I hope to catch up soon, but then the fun will be over, unless you have a new adventure? Also really enjoy the dialog for Ollie! She is the pup of the year! Her laps around the boat to the engine sounds is great fun. Stay safe and enjoy the ride.

It was a good thing that you had flat calm conditions when crossing Mobile Bay. I've seen other videos of people crossing it when it was windy and rough. Very unpleasant. I bet y'all didn't get much sleep when that storm rolled in, I know that I would not have slept in those conditions. Thankfully the weather cleared for Christmas Eve and Christmas day. It did look like you all had a nice holiday. The food looked wonderful. In the bloopers, it was funny Jen said that she hoped that the pelican didn't crap in the dinghy. When I was a kid living in Savannah, Ga, we had a Wellcraft Nova 25 XL. It was a "go fast" type of boat. We'd take it up to Hilton Head regularly, docking it in one of the marinas in the Sea Pines Plantation, not Harbour Towne which is the one with the lighthouse. At that marina, the pelicans crapped all over the boats. What a nasty, stinky mess they made of the mooring cover and parts of the deck. Looking forward to seeing where you stopped in Florida on The Big Bend and when you made the trip into the Gulf headed towards Tampa Bay.

Fascinating adventure you are having. Interesting to see some of the places we have had the pleasure to share. Merry (belated) Christmas from our family here in Fort Erie. We will most likely not do the Great Loop but we do have at our pleasure the Thousand Islands. Rideau Canal, Trent Severin waterway and the Erie Canal. Our port is Bald Eagle marina on Lake Ontario.

I have a curious question for you about sundowners. I suspect it is similar to going to a friend's house on a weekend night where everyone chooses BYOB and usually brings a food dish. Isn't it, or do the hosts host with food and beverages? Enjoying your cruise vicariously and wishing we could get on the loop. Keep it up!
@SchoandJo
9 ай бұрын
Good questions! Yes, it's similar to visiting a friend's house, although typically a bit more low-key. Typically, you will bring a drink of choice, it doesn't have to be alcoholic if you don't want. Then the hosting boat normally will provide a snack or something easy like pretzels. If you do sundowners on the docks or something, then you typically will forgo the food. But its all really chill, you can bring food and another couple can bring drinks or vice versa, just try and be good guests and all works out :)

I know you like games. Have you played Stir the Pot? Have a New Year's Eve party at my house for the last 20+ years with siblings, nieces, their spouses and kids. I would say you need at least 6 people to play and have to know each other fairly well. Rules say game is over when everyone is mad at each other! It's pretty fun.

That's at the Austal facility, and they are making ships for the USN, but also make high speed ferries. It's hard to tell if this is military or just an unpained civilian craft. I tried to figure it out, but don't have time to dig any deeper.

It seems that more people are afraid of not eating meat lol. We've eaten meat before, but if you've never tried any non-meat meals, try meatless Monday or something. You may be surprised by what you like!
