Kyle, Thank you so much for the videos and content. I've recently had to take my car in to have a the rocker panel replaced after hitting a curb. Your videos have given me the knowledge and insight of how body work is done. I felt a LOT more confident in understanding what the shop was telling me. I was even able to help them realize that they could section a piece in that they didn't think they could. I wouldn't have that knowledge without your expertise! Thank you.

This is probably the exact truck I have 2011 SCREW and I'm noticing bubbling at the rear. I know I'm going to have to do this as new vehicles are outlandish expensive. Do you apply anything to mitigate this from happening again?

Corrosion protection on the new panels “weld primer” and he probably did some cavity wax.

relocate the sun rood drain hose so it runs water outside the cab, not drain into cab corners. ford designed it that way to rust out the cab corners and rockers so you buy a new Ford. lots of videos on how to re route sun roof drain hoses

I hope you sprayed some kind of antirust coating inside the rocker after you painted. Otherwise it will rust quick behind those welds.

great job. this is how a professional works. now the root cause was that the sunroof rubber drain lines run down behind the back door and deposits all the water into that cornere of the cab INSIDE the rocker panel. FORD designed it that way to rust out the cab. buy a new ford.

I am really surprised at the condition of the rest of the panel, inside and out. There must have been some kind of paint damage to allow it to rust through in that one place.
@jmd18

Nope! Its just because it's a ford! 😆 You would think after decades of rusty can corners they would figure it out, but they haven't.

There's a lot of bad steel and paint out there. I had a F150 Supercrew that had to get the bumpers repainted when it was 4 years old. When the rockers started bubbling at 5 years old, I sold it. They put some crazy chemical on the roads in the winter that will eat anything away in a few months if there's a chip in the paint.

ford designed the rubber drain hoses for the sun roof to drain into the cab corners and rockers, lots of videos on how to re route your sun roof drain hoses to the outside of the rooker panel not inside.
It look like you almost just could have metal finish that I can't believe you did all that work on all that Bond on my got it made me tired just thinking about watching it I think metal finish would have been perfect for inside that rocker who cares my gosh ten years that truck will be in a junkyard anyway I mean it doesn't nice job but I would have just metal finished it may be a little Bondo on the back of that cab corner and said and done
@jonathanyates5198

Between heat warpage and how thin the metal is plus weld on anything butted, metal finishing would be stupid. It would be paper thin
