And? He doesn’t do anything to help her, he actually encourages her to go further down in her spiral. V and Lip showed actual care, while they may have been somewhat harsh in how they handled things it was all in the name of giving Fiona a wake up call, and her waking up in dump with Frank was what she needed to wake up.

What’s sad is the west side for decades was the war zone in Chicago. Cabrini green areas near division street were so bad it made south side look like wrigleyville. Until they knocked down the projects and gentrified the area. They gave a few people section 8 vouchers but majority were just pushed in another direction: south side. Now instead of having 2-3 main gangs in one centralized area, we now have a dozens and each corner is different. Most people who consider themselves “Southsiders” had a grandparent live there during the economic boom before moving on to a better neighborhood. Or are just Sox fans who think that makes them blue collar despite living in the rich suburbs.

Nobody from the South side of Chicago says "You're South side? " or talks like a majority of the actors on that show. The only one who seems like he was born in the South Side of Chicago is Mickie. I hate when hollywood trys to relate with people that have no money. The south side of Chicago is tough, hard workers, life, death, good food, and love for the sports teams, unlike those yuppies on the North Side.

I fully understand, as a person who had to work my way out of that and had to not adopt that mentality. Living in the deep hood, crazy shit everyday because your neighborhood is only 2 football fields long and everyone is mentally challenged with guns. Once I got out I had a outburst just like this that kinda went like " SHUT THE FUCK UP! you make your own problems and kill and cry about it" something like that. I haven't talked to a specific side of my family since. I refuse to be apart of the problem. If that makes me wrong, tell it to your equally as whiney partner

Yeah but thats the thing this was taken from a white perspective of the hood this show doesn't even focus on the gang violence in Chicago, just a broken family with major problems and a few white locals who live there. Plus the street the location of the house is at doesn't even look nearly as bad as 95% of Chicago
