FYI, the correct way to test those pull stations is actually pulling the handle. Then opening it to reset (removing the glass rod before of course)
@nics-systems-electric

People say that a lot I’m aware of that because it’s more realistic but nobody ever does that lol. maybe they should but probably will never happen
@armorsecsys
2 жыл бұрын
I do that each time I inspect. I have had the handles come completely put of the station when pulled without triggering the alarm. I have also had other pulls handles work but failed to trigger the switch. If you are inspecting a system correctly, thats how you do it. And more people than not test them the correct way than you think..

Are strobes not required in Canada? I can remember back in the 1980s anytime a fire alarms system was updated they would add light plates to the bells or horns. Now they use strobes. My elementary school had a space age electronics light plates added. I wish I were there when they demolished the building but later I learned the system was replaced about ten years prior to a new school built and the old demolished

This Old ass School. Has this never been renovated. Geez this shit looks horrible bro. Naw though, If You Come to the poorest parts of my area here in Chicago, There are some Terrible Looking Schools that don't get Fire Alarm Inspections, Upgrades, or Renovations(The Freaking Textbooks are from the 70's). Its Horrible to be honest. My school was built in the 50's. Had Faraday 6126B Remote horns With Wheelock RSS Strobes. Most of the Strobes were destroyed and To this day after my 2 years out of High School(I'm 19), The Strobes are Still Not replaced and Most likely will never be. Been destroyed I heard since the 2000's. Just goes to show The Government don't care about anything but building worthless places that won't mean anything in 12 years. The older System was Some sort of Pull Rod System as Some parts Have the Old Steel Tubes in the walls with the Recessed Pocketed Projector Horn Ports Covered. The Gym was Our Cafe, and We had A Fallout Shelter as well. Been down there once and that was the first and absolute last
