Good luck trying to wake up when there is a fire. It’s almost as if low frequency fire alarms don’t exist. Heck, even speaker strobes can be set to do low frequency tones at the same volume as horns.

Perhaps my perception is wrong with low vision. But it seemed as if the alarm started sounding when you were barely touching the pull station at the beginning of the video. Was it set to be that sensitive?

no, another one of his partners activated the alarm.

Just a steady horn tone for the speakers? They could have at least coded it to code-3!

Now you have to get even with your partner and activate it first next time before he can get to it! That looks like a pretty darn nice panel there. Probably quite a bit of money to install that system.

msj191961 Yeah I do! and i dont doubt it, especially a retrofit system like this (used to be a conventional panel, not sure what though)

How come during inspections/tests They always key activate it instead of just pulling/resetting? There aren't any glass rods being broken.

Since when did Simplex pulls-any of the "Tbar" pulls- have glass break rods? I thought the only glass break option on simplex pulls were breakglass/hammer type. : www.allabandoned.com/no-mo-hi-ho-casino/payphones-for-daze/

They have break rods... they are plastic, and just as annoying to replace since many locations dont have extras.
@NJMoo3652

+JMAN123436 they go inside the pull station. You can see them in the little hole under the tbar handle
@GaryBeltz

+JMAN123436 Sometimes they also have the handles and the area around the pull station covered with a substance that's invisible initially but if you get in on your hands the heat from your body makes it turn blue sometimes it also triggers by your sweat as well since they are going in not knowing it's safer to key activate them then have to reapply the ink

Is that a re-branded Simplex panel? The tone sounds like the one from your 4100ES dark video and the panel looks similar to the Simplex 4100u InfoAlarm panel that Voyage400 had.
@tor94

Gary Beltz No, it is a Simplex panel. Its a newer 4100ES. From what im told is thats an option for the panel, the LCD display.

+wileyk209zback It's probably the 4100ES version of the infoalarm like I said Voyage400 had one I don't know if he still does since he hasn't made fire alarm videos.

Not exactly. The smoke detectors in each room have a local piezo sounder built into the base.

+tornadofreak1994 Sometimes the room smokes are on a delay timer like in the newer residence halls at IUP it's set up so that if your room smokes go off because you burned popcorn for example just your room goes off initially but if you don't get it stopped within 5 minutes it will set the entire alarm system off. I was told 5 minutes by the Residential Director but I doubt it actually waits that long.

@tor94

JMAN123436 There are two "steady" tones heard. the sounder bases are the "screechy" ones. And they are in the bases of the smoke detectors in each dorm room.
