I should have done that when some Otis guy was fixing the service elevator in OC at the carousel

The non-hold position might be like the Elmwood Garage before its modernization.

What key is used for this elevator? I know a lot of elevators today use the FEOK-1 key, but the Otis elevators use something different.

I don’t know why some phase 2 elevators don’t have a hold for some reason

I think there was a time in the 80s into the early 90s where a Hold position wasn't required.

@@Jamestube8439 Just wondering, thought that would've been the answer to it having no Hold position. Maybe Off doubled as Hold considering there was in-car Bypass at one point, but that type of FS is super rare nowadays that I myself haven't seen in any elevator before (the kind that's less than 70ft where the Phase II keyswitch was unused I have seen but never in action).

@@Undercoverelevator212-s2n Yeah this was Otis' older version of fire service, which happened to be very similar to US' which you can see on DieselDucy's US fire service video. It's a good thing that Otis improved their fire service operation otherwise if it was still like this, it would be unsafe

@@Jamestube8439 All very true. Plus Call Cancel was a good move. Not sure where the idea for fire cabinets in modern elevators came from.

@@Jamestube8439 Exactly. They still use this style in Australia. With their Phase II you close the doors by turning the key to Start until it’s fully closed. There’s no Hold position but there’s also no Call Cancel or Bypass/Reset positions.
