@4:55 you can also edit the curves using the spline editor for an even larger view. This works with any curve, like anim curves and things. Great tutorial!

A couple things to check are that your connections to the merge nodes are in the correct order and that you are previewing the correct node

If anyones stuck on how to put the text over a video, all you need to do is connect the Merge1 to a merge2 node, the the mediain1 to the merge2 to media out1. then shazam!

One small tip, for node organization: ALT + Left Click on the node connection line to create a Pipe Router. This will help you with how you place your nodes and connection lines on screen so you don't scatter your nodes all over the place just to have a clear view of how and where your nodes are linked. The pipe router can be moved around and you can add multiple pipe routers on the same connection line.

I didnt do any steps past the background stuff because I wanted just a text element on the screen, and it looks fine on the fusion tab but once coming back to the editing tab the text looks all glitched out. Could you see why this is happening?
@ChromeLion
Жыл бұрын
That is unusual. I haven't run into a situation where the edit page is different looking than the fusion page. Have you tried restarting Resolve?
@Exfinity
Жыл бұрын
@@ChromeLion correction, I'm able to use the render- in place feature and the fusion clip looks fine on the editor and fusion tab. However rendering it with the entire video is causing this glitched out look with the fire text. Restarting also didn't fix, but now I'm wondering if I could render the fusion clip alone and import it back into the video.
@ChromeLion
Жыл бұрын
This might be a file format issue. I've had a situation where a video I rendered from resolve wouldn't then play back correctly in Resolve. Changing the video file format fixed that... And while I haven't tried it, I think you can save renderings directly from Fusion. Might be called a Saver Node. But its an image sequence not one video file if that matters.

Around the 8 min mark where the Background is added you could replace that node with a MediaIn that contains your video. You could then adjust the blend mode of the connecting Merge node. Just note that things like fire usually look best over a dark background so it might help to make your video as dark as you can.
