This is a deliberate decision, almost all games opt for readability over realism because a flatscreen monitor is not the same as your eyes. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the bazooka in their collection appears to be an M1, not and M1A1. The M6 rocket was loaded into the M1 bazooka and the round made contact at the widest part of the rocket, at the large box near the rear of the tube, as well as by a fin at the opening. This design proved very unreliable. The improved M6A1 rocket used a wire that would be clipped into one of two coil springs at the rear of the M1A1 rocket launcher.

Hip-firing the MG-34 (and MG-42) by gripping the bipod is described explicitly in Heeresdienstvorschrift 130/2a (Army Regulation 130/2a, March 1941). To quote from memory: "The LMG is to be loaded with a 50-round belt box, and the strap adjusted to that it may be worn on the right side of the body. (smaller riflemen may shorten the sling by looping it around the grip.) The right hand is used to keep the machine gun pressed closely to the body, and the left hand is to grip the bipod to the side, and control the aim in this way. Fire is to be opened at the shortest distance, and the shooter must reach over the feeder with his right hand to disengage the safety only before firing." There's more about unjamming only from prone and things like that, but it was explicit trained technique.

1:25 In general, early man portable anti-tank rockets (MANPATS/MPATS) and their launcher were in their infancy. The M1 Bazooka and RPzB 54 "Panzershreck" essentially being the first generation of such a system. The M1 had a rough effective range of 140 yards, but could be fired against area targets further away. While the rockets were effective at knocking out tanks, the user both has to be within range (which is already too close) and has to not miss. The rocket motors were inefficient giving the projectiles a low velocity and a low range. The M1 was more effective as an anti-structure weapon than as an anti-tank tool, but a brave enough soldier could very well knock out a tank with one.

I'm kinda disappointed that Jonathan didn't mention how the Rockets for the M1 Bazooka had a Copper Wire near the Tail end of the Rocket where after you load the Rocket into the Bazooka, there is a Small Stud or Pin where you wrap the Copper Wire around since the M1 Bazooka what a lot of people don't know is "Electrical" Fired and that large Wooden Shoulder Stock is actually where the Battery is located. When the Germans Reversed Engineer the M1 Bazooka that eventually led to the Panzerschreck, they decided to use a sort of "Punch Generator" or basically a Dynamo that spins when you pull the Trigger in order to create an Electrical Current enough to Fire the Rocket of the Panzerschreck, eliminating the need of a Large Battery.

So the STG isn't in this video, but in case Johnathan watches or anyone else cares, we can all get our own emotional support STGs soon enough. PSA is working with HMG to get their STG44 copies produced, hopefully everything goes well.

PSA has repeatedly failed to deliver announced products and the StG reproduction has an even more troubled development history

"Bit too much flame, they're not high explosive, but armour-piercing." Even HE is just a puff of brown smoke, the big orange fireballs are purely Hollywood. Which actually makes artillery even more horrifying, really.

03:08 - the reason the muzzle flash light can be seen here is because calculating shadows for a light source is very expensive (in terms of performance) and in Unreal Engine 4 - which this game uses - you can only have 4 shadow-casting Lightsources overlapping at once. So most lights used for effects like muzzle flashes, sparks, and some explosions are all simple point lights with no shadows, anything else would be overkill and cause issues if it happened to go over that 4 shadow budget. In a modern engine a simple light is very cheap to render, and most of the time you don't really notice that the shadows are missing.
