And this is why you train over and over and over again until it becomes muscle memory when you have to do it scared in the dark with a room on fire. When I went through fire school we were taught to I always have a ladder by the window for egress in case of an emergency. That was almost 30 years ago so much has changed for the better it's unbelievable It's just sad that it costs so much.

I thought he was supposed to gate vault out the window without any harness, lol. I was thinking, "Damn, he better not get his leg caught or he's gonna land on his neck from such a height!", lol.

@@atransarcticfox no, like they do everywhere else. ofc not every cop is great, but the way you focus on the 1% bad ones to call everyone else useless is disgusting. that's like pointing to the cases of p*dophile gay and trans people and saying they are all that way and should be treated as if they were, just that policemen dont even have a statistically increased likelihood to be dickheads. a world without police would be an absolute nightmare, even though not every cop is perfect, because guess what: they are human and some humans are stupid, no matter their job. ofc it is easier to sit on your lazy ass, never do anything else than be a burden for society and point fingers to the other people who publically fail at doing their job and then calling for a collective punishment to all humans who share that job. policemen are individuals, where many went into the profession because they love helping other people and saving lives and keeping order

I did that in basic training last Saturday, one window higher but without breathing apparatus. Greetings from Germany stay safe out there, wherever you are.

All individuals who practice bailouts at the RIT house wear a safety strap thetered to a TruBlue self descending device that is anchored to the house. You can see the purple strap attached to the airpack and the blue webbing that descended alongside the firefighter's back in the video.
