Curious: If the fire burns thru the rope in your ladder, will the top half of the ladder come crashing down?

+David Rudmin A good person (thanks to him) replied: "No, that rope is to help raise and lower the ladder, once the ladder is at the desired height, there are locking mechanisms on the ladder that hold it in place by locking onto the rungs. So if the rope were to burn, the ladder is still secured."

Just a tip....load the ladders backwards. That way when you pull them out you're ready to deploy without flipping it around.

Are you guys SERIOUS????????????? The house and possibly others are BURNING and you are trying to get the truck closer????? Planning to use the Deck Gun at 10'??? How do you propose to operate the pump or get Anything off the side of the truck??? I'll bet you Anything, in Capable hands, this fire could have been OUT before the video started! Vertical Ventilation does not work but they'll do it anyway because that's what's IN right now.

JB91710 Why do you have to leave negative comments on every video? You weren't there so stop complaining about how they do their Job.

He's a bitter old man who feels the need to live out his remaining days of his shitty life being a negative Nancy because nobody does anything right except him. If it's not like how he did it in Buttfuck, Vermont back in the 60's and 70's then look out for the wrath of Jacko.

@@KentCountyFireEMS You, have to be there. I, Don't. I can see what's happening because I THINK, I just don't WATCH and say, "What a bunch of Heroes." I evaluate performance. Did it for 45 years. Let me give you something to Think about. You can see fire coming out a window when you arrive. You stop the engine, activate the pump and hit the ceiling in that room with a straight stream and move it around to cover the entire room. The flames are gone in 2-3 seconds and the room is soaked in 3-5 seconds. The inside temperature dropped by 1000 degrees the second the flames where gone and all the gasses went out the window, not deeper into the structure. Now, go watch the video again and see what they did and how Long it took. Remember, your mother is laying on the floor just outside that room. Oh and Vertical Ventilation? They cut a hole in the roof and punch a hole in the ceiling to do what? Supposedly to allow the heat to rise up from the first floor and go through those holes. With your mother laying on the floor outside that room, won't the flames be pulled over her on their way to the roof and won't that burn the entire house down? Water on the burning material is a much safer way to go for everyone and everything. Don't you think?
