Mike Watt is so great, so humble and cares about us more than any bass player ever

I was one of those kids. A bass player in a band. You were a big influence on me Mike and still hold that #1 spot for me. Thank you for that and thanks for talking to me.

They must have put a lot of effort into pissing Mike Watt off. I spoke to him once after a gig and he was supremely lovely!

This interviewer is WEIRD. Her tone seems like she is trying to instigate something or put them into therapy.

As the uploader of this video I find this interview very good. Watt talks about the Minutemen, who I didn't know much about at the time! Yes he's proud of to be D Boons friend, he's humble, approachable which I found out a few times a few years later! listeners and gig goers is a better term than referring to yr audience as fans! now that made a big impression on the me, and the DIY ethic! I was a little too young for Punk Rock but inspired to start yr own band!

Minutemen changed my outlook on rock music 10 years ago and Iwas so late to the party this band is underated even in their DIY sphere and its kind of a shame - best 3 pieces musicians I ever had the chance to dig into and Im a nervana fan

Nice to hear the some younger folks are still discovering and appreciating their work. I was one of the lucky ones who saw firehose live and met Mike a few times during and after those days. Always approachable and friendly. He was a massive influence on me as a bass player. I miss firehose deeply. I was just a touch too young for the minutemen but certainly picked up on them way back in the day when I first learned of them. I’m now in my 50’s but I feel Mike, Ed and George influenced a LOT of people. Those who knew, just simply knew. My jaw dropped the first time I saw them. They were just so epically talented and tight. Miss them.

Here's why it's not a bad interview...Watt hints at why he did not simply continue with the Minutemen name. He wanted something fresh and different and that's exactly what he got.

I think the mousse in Ed's hair was partly why Watt pulled the plug on fIREHOSE, just sayin'..

@@PatrickNesbitt43 to be honest I don't even know. I don't remember watching this or leaving this comment. I do know I love firehose and minutemen.
