This part 2 fireproofing our 700 hessian/burlap/jute bags. These jute bags will be used as roofing insulation for our metal roof🔥🔥🔥. This is filmed at our permaculture project Gaia Ashram in the North East of Thailand.
Ratio for fireproofing natural fabric:
From the US National Fire Protection Association recommendation of:
Borax Powder 9 oz or 255 gr
Boric Acid 4 oz or 113gr
Water 1 gallon 3.8 liter
Mix thoroughly and spray on or dip. Solution should drip off material. Caution Before using any flame-treated fabrics, the material should be tested to make sure that the fabric is indeed flame retardant.
We heat the water to dissolve the solution.
If you are heating it good to wear a respirator and gloves.
