Hey I just finished watching your RV transport videos so welcome aboard and I enjoy your content and journey. Although my channel is about Rv transport flatbed I also share content I think you may find value in..... Like my zero breeze mark 2 air conditioner..... Or taking my domicile in the state of South Dakota so I no longer have to pay state income tax.....and more. Again, I like your content and journey and wish you well

I want to do this on weekend and as a hobby around my FT job. But now I’m nervous they’re gonna shut interstate travel for the non v🪓 ed. I had started looking for trucks but imma save and hold off a bit longer. Does anyone know how much the demand changes seasonally?

Hey I just subscribed to you. I like the breakdown. I have a question if you dont mind me asking. On the load boards are there many runs going to the northeast. If so how much they pay a mile. Thanks
@robandnikki1

Yes, there are many. They are usually $1.66 and above. Most people do not like going that way because of traffic and tolls. But all tolls are reimbursed.

Very good and simple Earnings video, thanks! My concern in this line of work (I did DriveAway in 2021 for a couple months, not enough meat on that bone) is you comment, "My truck had 20k'ish miles when I started and now it has 80k'ish miles on it." So, if you had a net of $20k after 90day s and those added miles, we are talking about .30 cents a mile earned. That's a good .28 cents a mile below IRS CPM. Am I missing something, or is this about right? THANKS!

You are not missing something. The industry does not pay enough to have an individual profit. Some business plans don't work.

Uh, net should include ALL expenses. This would include maintenance, depreciation and repairs. Pulling singles is for suckers. You won't earn much money with todays fuel cost, repair costs, truck costs, etc. Anyone who's been pulling for more than two years know that pulling multi's is the way to make money. For those of you who think this work will earn you more than about $200 per day net should know that you HAVE to haul both ways or most of you will be broke in two years. There are only a few people on KZitem vids that actually understand what it takes to make money pulling trailers. Hear what I say then research all these people who say there's "big" money to be made and you'll find that none of them have done it for very long.

ALOT of factors go into your EXTREME generalization. Everything you purchase can be written off. Family or no? Mortgage? Truck payment? Are you single or married? Do you stay in a hotel every night? Do you run 70-75? A person can make money I. The field, but that person also has to be wise with how it’s spent. You know how many stay at home lawyers, nurses, policemen, teachers, etc are in debt up tot heir eyeballs that they can’t see straight?? On the road or at home, the basic principles of finance do not change. I know people who met 100k/yr and are poorer than me who makes a 1/3 of that. It doesn’t matter what a guy does to support himself, financial decisions are what make the difference. Also, the more that is written off, the lower your tax rate will be. Most companies don’t “make a profit” in the first 3 years.

What should I expect to pay for a small Toyota truck with a camper on the back of it? Let us say from Miami to Virginia Beach? It is slightly under 1000 miles. How much per mile?
@jeremywilson1299

This day and time with fuel prices, anything $2.50 or under loaded mile and below is fair for both. I’m in ky and I run the east coast some, that’s what we get per loaded mile. $2.50, at 978 miles by google maps. Roughly $2,445 Depending on true actual addresses point A-B. If your lucky you’ll find a new guy still willing to run his one car hauler from down there to you for $2 or so loaded mile. Experienced guys know better worth the tolls in Florida, wind off the ocean, fuel cost in Florida, insurance cost, cost of running the truck and wear n rear on trailer. They really aren’t making much when u count there time. Just for instance me at $2.50 loaded $2,445 It’s 996 from me to Miami it’s 18 hours, than 978, 18 hours back to you, 560 miles back home. Or another 10 hours. If I was to run that single run. It be at the least 46 hours of driving round trip. Roughly 2600 miles round trip. At 10.5 mile to the gallon, I would burn 248 gallons of fuel at $4.50 per gallon, it would cost me $1,200 round trip on fuel alone. So right there, the fuel takes half of the price. Than 46 hours of work. Would be $26 an hour, but we still have not factored in the cost of tolls, wear and tear on truck and trailer, cost of oil change I’d basically have to do before leaving, and when I get back (yes it’s a gas truck). A lot of things factor into your question. So basically I’m saying good luck finding anyone any cheaper unless they have a run going down close by and grab yours coming back.

You can make money if you don't stay in a hotel every night, eat at sit-down restaurants for breakfast and dinner. I sleep in the back seat of my truck at rest areas/truck stops, eat out of a cooler and lunch box and I make more money than I did when I was making 35/hr to install underground power. You just have to be smart about it and not think you're a princess that needs a queen size bed and someone to make and bring you food every time you're hungry.
