People need to know not all strokes cause obvious physical signs, they can be cognitive. When my husband and I were working at our store he started to behave strangely. I checked him for all the overt stroke signs, he moved and appeared normal. I asked him my sister's name and he didn't know. I asked him some baseball-related questions, he couldn"t answer them, and baseball was his favorite. I figured he had a stroke, phoned 911. The EMTs arrived, checked his physical situation, said he looked normal, I insisted he'd had a cognitive stroke, we took him to the hospital, after scans, the neurologist diagnosed he'd had a left thalamic stroke. So don't assume if someone moves normally that they haven't had a stroke

My mom was the same way. Physically she was fine. She just was having major memory issues. We finally got her to the ER. They actually cleared and said she didn’t have a stroke. At her PCP insistence they did an MRI and bingo she had had a stroke in her right front lobe.

this right here! I had a mini stroke/tia in october of 2023 (and i’m a healthy 17 year old, supposedly.) i didn’t have a droopy face or anything else but i was physically unable to speak, and i lost the ability to understand other people’s speech. it literally sounded like gibberish to me, even though it was regular english. i didn’t know i was having a stroke, all i knew was i couldn’t understand english nor could i speak at all.

They should really change their number to 911 in that country that is not a number. I don't want to see it because technically, three nines, it's another way of symbolizing the mark of the beast. Not that that's what they were trying to do, but that's seems like a downer to have to type that number, and when one is already having a situation, that's bad. Talk about an unlucky number.

Administer tpa as soon as possible (within 3 hours) if it was an ischemic stroke and surgery for hemorrhagic stroke. The way to tell is by doing an emergency MRI. Doctors won't be able to do anything if they were there, that's why you call 911 and not waste time asking questions.

Theres nothing different a doctor could do, if he was present?, without the hospital equipment?

So basically you can't do anything? Just keep questioning until ambulance comes? Ask him to smile Ask him to speak Ask him to raise his hands Is it really hard to notice?? That's why you should making sure after making sure and again making sure it's a stroke?

Put a wet cloth (dewatered) immediately in the stomach one hour. Little cold water is better. Keep in very airated area. Allow air flow. Then "Hip Bath" 30 minutes two times daily. Use all the medicines as per doctors. This is not joke. I am a severe stroke patient (2007) used this method to return to life. Even in the hospital without telling to the doctors I practiced this. After the stroke heppened do not wait for the report. It will take 3-4 hours to show in the mri report. Don't wait for this. By that time everything will be collapsed. The very earlier, the very better. It is a very good first aid. Good luck.
