@@sherryhillman9197I get your point. Back then, education for Black children was pushed so they could make a good living (even though that's not the only reason). Now, the world has changed so much, and many college-educated people aren't making as much as a lot of teenage KZitemrs. There are 18 year old KZitemrs out there making millions annually. I think more emphasis is on money ONLY now than the college-educated experience and benefits. Frankly, I'm not mad at the KZitemrs and investors who are currently using social media and investments to create wealth - as long as they don't let that wealth ruin them emotionally and socially. Either way, intelligence can't be bought.

@Ettennea, I understand exactly what you are saying. The overall comparison of what used to be considered respectful vs. what is respectful now are lightyears apart. She was not her children's "peer". She was a parent. And I personally believe that the current norm has become, "Be your child's peer" which is totally different from being their friend. But unless one was there to witness what WAS vs. what IS, it may be hard for them to understand and grasp the difference.

This is so beautiful to me. She was beautiful, dignified, very lady like, and educated. A true model for all women I believe. I was thinking the same thing, Whitney Houston did look like her and they had very similar speaking (talking)voices.

So glad I stumbled upon this during Black History Month. I’m black and proud. Mrs. Coretta was concerned about how the nation is grieving along with her family. Wow! What an example of selflessness and love. It’s still so sad to think about the death of Dr. King after all these decades. 😢

These wicked people killed Dr. MLK and then turn around and ask Coretta Scott King (MLK’s widow) will she have a happy Christmas without her husband. That’s a very disrespectful and insulting.

Such poise that she carries truly an inspiration for a Latin woman as myself. Wow her perception and understanding at that time of her husband’s death and the impact she knew it was making on the world is truly uncannily remarkable to watch. Her children such joy to hear them speak.

I love the grace on Correta Scott Kings face. She is so beautiful. So eloquently spoken. Black history month drew me here. This is why I have a paid holiday for his birthday. Also she continued to progress this movement. I will forever feel indebted to this family for they have essentially changed history. It helped Americans and this nation out in so many ways I can only express my gratitude 🙏🏼. Let us continue and try to come back together as a nation as she said "It's hope for redemption".

I would love to be a family woman just like Coretta. The kids are smart, healthy, and gorgeous. And so is Coretta. I love this documentary. This is what our black families should look like. It's absolutely outrageous and appalling of the stupidity out there now. It's an embarassment. SMH

Thank you so much for the compliment. And yes you are right about the welfare situation. Now I will say that even though I know couples mess up as far as relationships. You still have to make sure even double sure that the children know the father is still important. He is important and must be respected. That is how it was when my parents separated. My mother always assured me that my father was a good man who deserved every bit of reverence that I give her. The father is so extremely vital to the upbringing of the children. It gives me chill and makes me want to breakdown as to how the BLACK man has been so disregarded and tossed aside. For some stupid assistance? My goodness; when I came up my mother made sure that my father took care of me. She also had a lot of her hand (money wise) invested as well. Never ever did my mother need the government for a damn thing. My mother graduated with both a Bachelor and Master's Degree. Then she went on to become a teacher. She retired and is living relatively fine. So it's possible to live and not need a handout. It's just too many morals and values have been tossed out of the window. That in turn has been a detriment in more ways than one just as you described. Take care!!!

Absolutely beautiful and lovely display of unity, strength, perseverance, faith and hope. Coretta pressed on for the sake of her children. She knew that even though her husband was savagely taken from her, she was determined to keep Martin's dream alive. There is just something wonderful and most beautiful about a woman with this kind of strength and Grace under great pain and pressure. God truly held her together❤️
