@@neerajnongmaithem392 -O's typically enjoy a higher quality of life than E's all other factors being equal. -Everyone hates incompetent/bad leaders whether they be an NCO or a officer, and both can be good or bad. Even a fresh out of ROTC Butterbar can be well liked by the platoon if they are humble, willing to learn, and interject when appropriate, and the saltiest of E7 can still be hated if he makes it his mission to just be an asshole to the lower enlisted while avoiding any accountability and generally being Toxic AF. -NCO's are very well experienced in team to company level leadership, touch upon broader tactical decision making at the senior enlisted level (E7-E8) and maybe lightly at strategic leadership if they make higher tier E9. (Upper limits for NCOs in a civilian context would be lower-middle management.) They aren't trained at all on policy making. Officers learn the basics of platoon and company leadership early in their careers, but become experts at battalion and above strategic level decision making once they spend time as a field grade. If they make 1-star and above, they touch upon geopolitical levels of decision making and are strategic level experts if 4 stars. (They would make up middle management and up to the C-suite in a civilian context) NCOs can run companies in a practical sense without officers sure, but they aren't trained at all for battalion and above management.

Yea and you'll still get d bag ncos that treat you this way even after deploying and making specialist. That's why no one stays in.
I would say it's *physically* harder on the enlisted sure, but at least at the E5 and below level, you don't have to worry much about drowning in administrative work, nor any of the office politics/mind games you see among the brass and even the senior enlisted. Also, as an officer, the platoon/company fucks ups are attributed to you officially. Doesn't matter that it's actually some dumb PFCs fault or a salty perma E6 who just doesn't give AF anymore and is just coasting to his 20yrs. The CO and even the BC will come down on butterbars hard for things that are legitimately not their fault. At least as a junior enlisted (and to a degree as an E5) your mistakes are your own and you only really have to worry about yourself and maybe a squad at most, but you will still never have *formal* command responsibility over those under you. The humble butterbar has an official commission, and an NCO does not. Honestly, maybe only Warrants can be considered easy mode, but they EARNED that easy mode through beating the secret end level and starting over again with a new game+ file XD

I spent the weekend getting hammered at the on base Enlisted Club and getting to know a couple of my berthing mates . I slept in the rack assigned to a Petty Officer E5 over the weekend . Come Monday morning he laughed at my hungover ass , dragged me to muster , and lead me to an unoccupied rack to stow the contents of my sea bag . My Leading Petty Officer ( E6 ) took me out carousing Charleston , South Carolina with the rest of my Division . My question is Why does the US Army feel the need to treat new soldiers like garbage ?

Exactly. My first unit which was in fucking korea was horrible. B troop 4/7 cav. We had a smoke session followed by the stupid alert to get full battle rattle. Mind you I didn't even have my ruck or ta-50 but they assigned me m16 and meet at the motor pool and then pull security. All this in freezing weather and a plane ride from knox that was like 20 something hours long followed by a long as bus ride that smelled like crap.

Damn, i should've gone to your unit. As a cherry butter bar, I got cussed out in the S3 shop for replying to a question with "hooah." I accept 100% fault for that one.

99% of the NCOs I ever delt with. Gee, I wonder if that kind of toxic nature will make people want to reenlist or not...
