Eminem & Bass Bros produced this. Just for context when Em was asked what he thought about gay marriage he responded “I think if 2 ppl love ea other, then what the hell? I think everyone should have the chance to be equally miserable.” 💀 He’s frequently said he often said things just to make ppl mad.

The priest lines about his wife sick in the hospital with the car and everything are reference to the exact thing happening roughly at that time. Em wasn't making anything up with those bars. There was a priest that got arrested at the time stealing from the church and did all those things around then. It was a big deal all over the news for a couple of weeks.

Prob my favourite em song tbh! 😏.... I distinctly remember when this came out and how excited us fans were to hear him giving people the big fu back because at the time just b4 this...people had been burning his cds and everything, trying to cancel him for his art because he was a bad influence on the youth (ie me at the time 😆. ...well I was in my late teens anyhoo) and it only made us love him more. When people ask what made em my favourite. ... his skin colour wasn't it at all but the way he raged against the machine! 😏😁....oh and his crazy horror lyrics & storytelling....he's just the whole package and his pen is sharp enough to pierce ur brain! 😅

@@KeatandCarterReacts Nothing to thank. Isn't it awesome? We live in such a crazy time where I can support you doing nothing else than moving my thumb a bit down after I anyway already clicked play, before I go to full screen... I never saw something this easy to do... It depends on how you want to run this process... I mean, almost all Em songs are worth it to give them a listen... I would even say the best thing to do is reacting in chronological order to every recorded word he ever spoke... so you can understand better why he did what next step by step. If you also consider checking out other artists, then I would love it if you could react to Amy Winehouse. For me, the same thing about her like I said about Em...

@@raumzeitrelativ8615 I love this energy! 🔥 And that is so true, we are very grateful to be in the position to start this channel. This has been so fun, and it will only become more and more exciting! We absolutely need to get a bit of chronology going here lol. We have stuck to the first 4 albums he has released, so we haven’t gotten far in his discography yet, but we should try a bit harder to go in chronological order, including interviews, podcasts, and live shows! We will absolutely check out Amy Winehouse, I have heard a lot about her, but have never heard her music (as far as I know). You are the type of people we are wanting to attract to this channel; passionate, caring, knowledgeable, and much more! You are awesome! We appreciate you giving us the chance by clicking on our video and going as far as liking, commenting, and subscribing. That is killer! @@KeatandCarterReacts EMINEM I literally learned English listening to EM and translating his lyrics (at the time without available Internet everywhere) word by word with the English-German dictionary... and I started watching reaction videos to understand better all the doubles, wordplays, and all that stuff that makes him such a genius... I was already a big "German-spoken" Rap-fan and also appreciated English rap a lot even though I didn't understood it... What really connected me to him was just his unconventional style, as crazy and unorthodox as I was, but most people around me didn't felt like... and then the fact that reading the song-texts, I saw that he putted together syllables in rhyme schemes in such an unique way, I never saw and still haven't seen doing nobody else to this day... doing the 1st step into this rabbit whole, there was no way back for me, so I had to know what he said in his songs...so if there wasn't something special about the way he was doing it, I wouldn't be able to write this comment in English, explaining why I instantaneously felt in love so much specifically with his music and not with any other I heard... Long story short, I ALWAYS FELT SOMETHING SPECIAL ABOUT HIS 🎶 🎵... OKAY? Peace and love from Switzerland 🇨🇭

welcome to the Shady world. Full of entendres, illiterations, flows, etc etc. He has one of the hardest roles in life and Rap. He is, what you think when you are at the edge. of pain, anger, sadness etc. But he doesn't cry he rages. That's the secret. and I always brin Relapse as an example cuz most people LOVE thrillers and horror movies but gods forbid it's not a move but is a song. So pretty much that's it. Just LISTEN and enjoy his genius and mastery of Rap.

After the slim shady LP blew up, Em started getting a lot of flak from gay advocacy groups for using the f slur and that whole lesbian line in My Name Is (that the radio edit turned into pedestrians) and he got really incensed, feeling targeted by the community because he didn't think anything he was saying was beyond the pale compared to both his contemporaries and rappers of the past. So he doubled down, a sort of "I'll give you something to complain about" thing and you get the violent homophobia that was present on some of the MMLP tracks like Criminal. There was a lot of pressure and criticism of him for it, and while he didn't get "cancelled" that criticism is what initiated him reaching out to Elton John to try and bury the hatchet with the gay community by having Elton accompany him on Stan at the Grammys. It was a sort of apology, and he cut that shit out afterwards. Personally, as 15/16 year old fan at the time with a gay mom who also kinda understood the middle finger he was trying to wave (why are you making ME the pariah of rap for saying shit that everyone else is saying?), it was definitely something that tore me up a bit and I was really glad that it was resolved the way it was. Even removed from context I understand how people could absolutely reject it, but I think providing some for people who weren't around or paying attention then never hurts. Hope someone learned something :D
