The articulation makes sense when you realized that this type of armor utilized by the Space Marines slows them down to a walk. Space Marines are literally Walking Tanks and Terminators are the Heavy Tank versions.

I'd imagine the storm bolter is hollow plastic due to its design. Getting that double barrel looking nice out of a single plastic lump would have been really hard.

Correct, thank god he isn't a big heavy lump, its very clever especially having the hollow gun so he can hold the gun with his elbow bent. He stands well because of the weight deduction, id be happy if they followed this idea with the normal space marines, the weight is there in the right parts.

I remember buying McFarlane figures for $6 in the 90s while video games were $50. Now figures are $50 while video games are $70. Insane that figures used to be 8x cheaper than games and now they’re almost the same price.
@RealPacPhotos

That is wild! I saw a post that showed a toys r us catalog and it’s crazy how much cheaper figures and consoles were back then. Seems like the games themselves kinda stayed at that $40-$60 price range lol. But I guess DLC for the games round them closer to $100

That Reiver is way too big. I was amazed when I got him that he was bigger than the Intercessors. The Phobos armor that Reivers wear is supposed to be relatively light, making them the smallest of Space Marines. But McFarlane made him almost as big as a Terminator!

I can still find the Orks for $10 in my country, and compared to this, they're masterpieces. For $50 price point, I think this figure is a slap in the face for all of us fans and I don't think we deserve this treatment.

I'm always surprised how much action figures care about the weight of the figure. I don't mind that it's hollow. Yes it might make it more brittle but we're grown ass adults, it's not like we're gonna bash our figures into each other like we did when we were kids.
@RealPacPhotos
7 ай бұрын
Not so much “care about the weight” as it’s more so that the plastic is brittle. And we’re not exactly “bashing our figures together”. But for me, I like to do toy photography, and I’d like to pose the figures and try to push its limits to see how well the articulation works through toy photography. So that is where the concern for hollow plastic comes in. Thanks for checking out the video btw 🙌

0:55 - For the most part (there exist exceptions), this is, for example, common with Star Trek branded toys and other products across various manufacturers. ST's IP-owners strive to keep the branding and its visage unified where possible. For example, you get an action figure from Mego, a model kit of a starship from Revell, a playset from Playmobil, a 'real-sized' replica toy from Playmates, or a 'brick-build' construction set from BlueBrixx and all of these products shall now share the 'Star Trek Universe' template of a branding.

That plastic quality plus price point got me having doubts about my Amazon preorder 😵 I love customizing these mcfarlane figures because the cheaper price and the scale being mostly 1/12 scale accurate but a non brick-like terminator action figure for $50 is a bit of a turn-off.
@RealPacPhotos

Yeah, I have to be honest, the hollow plastic at the torso is a bit of a let down. Especially since they’ve been using heavier and more durable plastic on the regular ultramarines.
@pittraider1221

@@RealPacPhotos Yeah, they should've made everything solid and not hollow except for the storm bolter (The double barrel gun that the figure comes with) since it being hollow is a good choice to make it lighter and therefore easier for the figure to hold up in one hand.

It honestly feels lower quality than the first few McFarlane 40K waves and is far lighter than the other 40k mega figures heck it feels lighter than previous standard 40k figures. It almost feels like they are using a different lower quality plastic or they hollowed out parts of the figure to make it lighter to save money on shipping or maximize profits. it feels cheap and my honest first thought was "I paid $50 for this?". That feeling was certified when I started to test his joints and I noticed his torso and arms were extremely loose. I became annoyed because I thought I had a defective figure so I went straight to KZitem to see if this was my issue or if others had the same impression. Looks like I am not the only one who felt this way. Other Terminator Megafigs have the same issues as mine as I have seen on multiple channels this one included. This feels like the worst Megafig that Todd has done in my opinion. This figure feels cheap, comes with virtually no accessories, the joints are extremely loose (Power Fist my Ass it's more like bitch slap action we should have gotten some articulation on the fingers or hand), and the paint job is so simple a first year Warhammer tabletop player could do better. I have every figure from McFarlane's 40k line and I have collected quite a few figures/Megafigs from his DC Multiverse line and this is the first time I felt ripped off. Maybe if this was 30 dollars I'd be ok with the quality but for $50 I expect more. Considering we have received better figures than this for 20 dollars from McFarlane Toys you should probably feel the same in my opinion.
