Nice review. Bought this kit 1984. Made in Japan in white plastic. Still had 1964 airfix stamp on it. If your looking for P.E. Tom's Modelworks makes a 1/600 Ocean liner set & a hand rail set. Get both if you can because ocean liner set is short on railings. Hope this helps. I'm doing the troop ship scheme. Love the dazel paint. Cheers!

Looks like it would be a good basis to build on and turn out a really nice model. I too like the hospital ship colour scheme.

There is also a nice WW1 splinter camouflage that could be done

That kit is the same age that I am. I think its probably held up a little better than I have. You're right, with just a little extra clean up and some thinned details that will build into a very nice model. She's always been my favorite liner. Not like that upstart Titanic! I do wish it would come out in a larger scale but I'm sure that is wishful thinking for any liner other than the Titanic. Another great video.

Its possible to convert the old Lusitania 1/350 kit but they go for silly money

Great first impression Jason! The kit is definitely showing it's age. , but still a nice kit. I would go for the hospital scheme too. Thanks for sharing.

Another great first impression video, looks like a fairly nice model. Was she the sister ship of the Lusitania? Just curious. Thanks Jason.

Thats correct, there are some differences but you could possibly convert her to the Lusitania

It's shocking how few ocean liner kits there are available for modellers. This kit is now very rare. Lusitania? Forget it! You'd think in this day and age, it would be possible get a kit of Olympic, Britannic, Aquitania, Rex, Wilhelm Gustloff, SS United States, Canberra, Andrea Doria, or Queen Elizabeth, etc, etc! Even the QE2 is long out of production and as far as i'm aware there is no Queen Mary kit to buy!

I agree totally, while everyone produces a Titanic. Revell did a Queen Mary, I reviewed it recently and will be reviewing the Queen Elizabeth soon, I am fortunate to have a Lusitania

@@ModelkitStuff I used to have an old 1/570 QM, but i sold it as i really wanted to hang on for a 1/600 version, which can on very rare occasions be found on Ebay, though i've not found one yet. If one of these model-making companies started a run of 1/600 ocean liners - or even 1/400 - say, Oceanic, Celtic, Lusitania, Olympic, Aquitania, Majestic, Leviathan, QM, QE, Rex, Bremen or Europa, America, United States, Canberra, they would sell well enough to make it worthwhile surely. When one looks at the dizzying availability of different aircraft kits there are, surely this would not be very unrealistic?

@@ministryofanti-feminism1493 The truth is most people are not intrested they wont sell in enough volume so really you need one of the resin boys like Combrig to do it

David Cameron’s Titanic Really. I think James Cameron would have something to say about that.
