Harvey was a Great Mentor...

I got an amazing opportunity to move up to the upper floors in a whole different department of the company I was working with. It was a great role with double my salary at the time and very good possibility for further growth in short to mid term. The executives of my department cut it off before the closing, they were very kind to explain to me that I was too good to lose. I started looking for a job elsewhere the following day. I worked there for 5 years and won multiple awards in a role way below my objective, I took the job as a stepping stone and excelled in it to increase my chances to move up. Corporate world is a whole different universe in itself, you live and learn.

it’s true, a fund manager told me this in basically the exact same words. when he was a lowly analyst he was early in and late out, he got the respect of his peers and the people above him and now no one questions when he comes in or out. for real tho no matter the profession if you are going to participate in this rat race then you have to put 110% in not just the job but the others aspects to else your going to be the bottom rung for the rest of your life.
