No need to climb Mt. Olympus in Cyprus. You can drive all the way to the main gate at RAF Troodos. The very peak is used by the RAF to house a communications/radar facility but is Not accessible to the public. Enjoy the skiing while you're there.

Fun attitude and goal, Natasha. It was too cold for two Florida boys to enjoy the summit when we were there. Our first Cyprus vlog just came out today. We will have four vlogs on the history, culture and food of Greek Cyprus over the next few weeks that I hope you might like. Cheers! - Turtle

Some do, some don't. Some supermarkets even asked me for it. They had tight regulations when I was there last week but I know things will be opening up come March according to the government website.

So, what do I know about Cyprus, from the top of my head... well,🙂I've been there once, on a blind "week long" date. Seriously. We were introduced in the morning, handed tickets, driven to the airport, and we flew to Cyprus for a week. Via Frankfurt am Main, which is a story in itself. Tip: If making a transfer at the airport Frankfurt am Main, make sure to have planned some extra time. It is a big airport, and though efficient... it's a big airport. The blind date didn't result in anything, and we... strangly never met again afterwards. I can't see any reason for why, I guess it just turned out that way. But it was a good enough vacation. Odd thing to have in memory. Our mutual friend told me, after me asking, that there were nothing wrong, just a lack of chemistry from her part, and I was at the time... naive, in lack for a better word, or essay. So I sincerely can't not fault her. What more... I understand that the Knights Templars made it a "fortress" for a while, having been ejected from "the holy land" in the 12th(?) century. It is, as you mention, divided, with a northern part of the island being under turkish rule, and a slightly larger southern part under greek. My uncle, was an UN peacekeeper soldier there for, I think a year, during the early 1970's(?), possibly 60's. This was shortly after the turkish had "invaded/liberated" the island. As always, thank you for posting, and my best wishes.

Wow Bo! A blind date in a new country! That is quite the story! Very cool, even if it didn't amount to anything. It's a great story and memory to have for sure. I find the Knights Templar fascinating! I didn't know that were in Cyprus as well 😀 Very curious!
